Why can't he exchange them?

Lack of trust. His MTGox account got hacked, and all the other ways he can use apparently will only do 2 coins. From what I gathered, his primary means of accepting payment is Paypal. Which is where most of his other donations come in, so that's understandable.

Dvorak has always been on the hate train for Bitcoin, though, and Adam loves the idea of Bitcoin, just not the way it's currently being done.
