So i want to start my collection of physical bitcoins but as there are so many to choose from now i want some offers and comments on what you think would be a good coin to start off with.
My budget is only small, between 0.1BTC to 0.4BTC so let me know what you think i could get for that, in the end it is just going to come down to what i like the look of best.

Loaded, i would say lealanas are nice and right now carry a low premium at the moment. Unloaded it depends on what you are looking for, DIY vs. Assembled, metal types, etc.

Maybe I will buy myself one as a end of tax year present soon. Edit: Thanks Mitchell some nice offers there but yoh may have me at the kialara, any pics of just that one i can see? Logging off now so will reply to any questions or offers tomorrow.

Thanks to all that replied with some great links, and also damn you lot because you have made my job a lot harder deciding now, they all look good Depending on how much btc i am left with next week i have decided i will buy a Kialara or Nasty Fans coin for my first. A Casascius will be coin number 2 or 3 i will have to buy as it look like your not really part of the physical bitcoin "club" until you own one of these babies I would really love to get my hands on a 2015 Kialara - Labyrinth so if anyone has one for sale post your price and if affordable to me we will talk further.

I would go for the Silver Wallets that Mitchełł is selling, then go with the Ravenbit coins the digicoinuser is selling. Both are good coins to start with and if you still have enough funds left ask for the lealana's of defcon23. I just started collecting physical coins late 2015 and once you started, you cant stop staring at it.

Ravenbits are DIY only and they were quite cheap back in the day. The owner sadly stopped selling them so you'll have to get it from the after-market. Luckily, the markup isn't that high. If you want to get a nice looking Casascius, you should try to get the Casascius St. Petersburg Bowl ( pictures by me). It looks pretty good and I think it doesn't have a huge markup, but I'm not certain. You could also go for a blank/redeemed Casascius coin which are a lot cheaper.

I don't think so, I checked the thread of digicoinuser and I did not find any information about it being funded. I got mine from an auction of IBGigglin and its a copper DIY coin. It's a neat looking coin that comes with a pouch. The Bitcoin penny looks great as well for starters. I'll be getting in touch with BitcoinPenny to get at least 2 coins.

Ravenbits are DIY only...
I believe they also made "Buyer Funded" coins, which could be considered a different type of DIY coin. For what it's worth, when I think "DIY," I picture a blank-sided coin (with or without a recessed private key area) with a separate holographic sticker. The owner must print his own private key, affix the private key to the blank-side of the coin, then cover the private key with the holo sticker. When I think "Buyer Funded," I picture a complete coin with the holo sticker already attached, and a private key already secured under the holo sticker. The coin comes ready to fund by the buyer; no assembly required. I believe Ravenbit coins came in both DIY and Buyer Funded varieties, but I could be wrong. I often am. Regards, Chris

Regards, Chris They did... all of the Node Bronze and Node Brass "A" were all pre-assembled and "buyer funded" You could say that all "Colored Nodes" (including gray) were "buyer funded" All the rest of were "DIY" to my knowledge..... Thanks Is the color of the private key really that important? Does a red slip of paper boost the value of the coin up? If so, by how much?
