I agree with this point. I don't even know a person who still uses a blackberry or windows mobile, let alone a person withe either operating system and knows about crypto. Probably the best course of action would just be to develop for the far more popular markets which is androids and iOS phones.

Where did you got "most popular gaming Dapp" from? There is some comparison chart listing everyone?

For the more technical minded a curated list at dapps.ethercasts.com shows all and I just tried searching "game" and sorting by "Updated" to see how the scene is moving. But that so far does not speak to me in a form of a ranking by perspective or current position.

ETHNews.com makes a good job on shining some spotlight on eSports the more glossy paper presentation. Popping up there could prove to be valueable advertisement.

But I do see all the windows 10 based devices are coming with inbuilt tablet mode and touch based laptops are becoming most common but you are considering them as dead ? For example, VSlice raised a few hundred thousand ETH and EDG raised quite a bit too. Imagine if EDG bet 20k of the ETH they raised on their 90% payout games. They would get back 19.6k ETH but the total ETH won/bet on EDG would be double VDice and considering VSlice's/EDG value is largely based on forward earnings projections, their valuation would jump up from $10 million to - a doubling in valuation could be worth $millions to them depending on their % ownership share. (On top of it, a lot of the 400 ETH lost would come back to them as profit share anyway.)

The dramatic ETH price rise has ramification for a number of factors, not just vDice, but gas on the network etc, etc.

As a result we are aware that, whereas the min. bet parameter was perfect before, now it is too high in $ terms. So we have a bunch of upgrades we are doing to the code for the existing game. Such upgrades include integrating new random data source and bringing it up to current technology generally. This is mainly concerning building in Web3 more comprehensively, this new random datasource and some tweeks to improve bet processing speed and reliability. This has always been on the roadmap. It's essential stuff and it's in process...That update will have new min. bet parameter according to current market and will go live asap.

Right now the focus is getting the next (new) game out the door. Then we can switch back to the dice game upgrades.

The next game is a slot machine (vSlots). The code is done. We’re in the process of switching the vSlots game code to the new datasource.
We decided also to change (mostly remove!) some parts to reduce gas costs for both placing a new bet and for executing the callback transaction.

The new code with those changes will be delivered by tomorrow to our front-end developers. Then they can finish work on their APIs.
The HTML code and design is nearing completion. Then we just stitch all 3 parts together and go live!

Yes I also think they will loss so much players specially the one who like to give them a try for first time, as there is also no way to test their game without paying with real ETH and the minimum amount is quite high which new players don't want to use just to give it a try.

Yes you have got the good point, vdice have to lower this down 0.22 at current exchange rate counts $20 which is really high minimum for players.
Also maximum bet for 19x multiplier is only 0.44 ETH which is very low limit compared to other normal bitcoin/altcoin dice sites.

Maybe they haven't taken the recent points into consideration to reduce the minimum bet amount. They should immediately do it otherwise they may lose a lot of smaller bets from many people. Including me, I don't want to bet so much of each game. It better to reduce as soon as possible.

Have been into this debate way before, but didn't get it considered yet by the management. I have been trying my best to take this to them and draw their attention towards this that the price of ETH has gone way above and losing such an amount would be harsh on our side, so they should really change the minimum to something which could be an affordable loss if lost so. So that we could gain more users for the site.
