Lol the CM Punk fight was an spectacle. That is just a showmatch, it was ridiculous that that was even considered by Dana White, but he is a businessman after all and I understand that he did it to get tons of views.

CM Punk said that he is going to continue fighting. Good luck for him and I hope he can improve, but he should fight some amateurs first.
Dont you think he is old to start fighting MMA? Not that I don't believe in his capability and just like what he said on his interview with Joe Rogan "dont let anyone tell you that you cant do it" but he has to be realistic. At age 37 and started MMA training only 2 years ago I think its kinda too late even if he fights an amateur.

Yeah, it's too late, but if he wants to do it, why not? He will keep making a ton of money every time he fights because people always want to see an WWE fighter in a real fighter. He has all the money needed to hire the best trainers in the world and the best gyms, and if he has the motivation, he can at least try to fight and survive a couple of rounds and keep making money.

look at the stock of Gall now,he now things that he could be undefeated and started calling out fights.he is a legit brown belt BJJ practitioner and Punk rolled just like purple belt when he took him down. He can hire the best trainers but how fast he could pick up the BJJ techniques is the big question mark.It all depends upon who his next opponent is going to be,if he gets a boxer then it might be a different story

You cant blame the fighters to call out someone like what Gall did, it his way to hype his name, to get attention, if they dont do that and just win every match then they will not be remembered by the fans. Just look at McTapper, he lost but his still known and remembered by fans. Look at Lesnar, last few fights before his comeback UFC 200 he lost but still a crown drawer.

Wasn't Brock Lesnar found to be cheating with drugs on UFC200 against Mark Hunt? what a disappointment.

CM Punk rushed his attack too much. He went straight to the guy, I guess hoping for a lucky KO or something.

Just like what Brandon Vera said, the pay that UFC gave to those punks are like a spit to the face of the MMA fighter. They were tapped to draw crowd and increase PPV and here they are one caught by USADA and one guy who throw only 1 punch and cashed in half a million dollars.

At the end of the day, it does not matter, like it or not, it's all a business and WWE moves millions of dollars, those guys have millions of fans, which means that Dana White is going to make tons of money with those fights. So why not? Clearly people want to see it because they tune in, so from time to time it's fun to see those guys fight real fighters.

Dana White found an opportunity and Dana is willing to gamble on that putting super stars in fight card even without that much experience or exposure in the league. That makes those guys who falls in line just to be in the fight card of an event. But as long as there are people who buys PPV and tickets to this kind of event, Dana will keep on doing this over and over again and we will keep watching and place our bets.

Cross-disciplines (if you can call WWE a discipline) always make tons of views. I personally would like to see McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather, I don't care if it's MMA or a Boxing match since I like both. People call those type of events freakshows or stupid but they are entertainment, and this one would be actually great unlike some WWE guy with no training going MMA.

Not sure which Wrestlemania is that but Floyd Mayweather appeared in one of Wrestlemania going against the Big Show. It sure did generate interest to the paying public and no wonder McTapper tried to generate hype as well by announcing a plan to fight Mayweather. Its all about the money.

Yeah but CM Punk?  I don't think he was an enough of a draw to bring in a lot of the huge WWE fan base.  Get John Cena to fight in the UFC.  That would draw and bring in millions via PPV and ticket sales.  But how old is he these days, hopefully still young enough to fight someone good competitively.

WWE wrestlers may truthly practice some martial arts but it would be easy to adjust in real time or real action fights. Lesnar came from ufc but transition would be easy. But if cena would really go for money but i doubt that it would give his first game an impact wether he is a real fighter or not.

Floyd Mayweather is an excellent businessman and knows the McGregor fight is a great deal. It will be a walk in the park for him in a boxing match. It can generate tons of money, so with the right offer it will happen. I know that I will bet a win for Mayweather and make some money myself too. I think Mayweather has one fight in him again before true retirement because he wants to hit the nice 50-0 record, this could be it.

Mcgregor facing floyd mayweather in a boxing match would be a joke and i am sure Dana white would not approve this fight outside of the octagon, since Mcgregor is contracted to UFC and if at all if the match is supposed to happen Floyd Mayweather and his team has to first contact Dana white rather than just hyping about facing a MMA fighter.Mgcregor wont stand a chance against Mayweather in a boxing match.

Remember Rhonda showing up in WWEs Wrestlemania and hit Stephanie McMahon? If that was allowed by Vince this is also possible specially this would generate more money for both camps.

I totally agree he looked desperate like he couldn't win unless he got
some lucky punch in.  Pretty sad the wrestlers are so pathetic because its
good for the sport to being all those viewers over.

i hope you just missed my point here, here we are talking about Boxing match from Flyod Mayweather who is probabily the best defensive boxer of all time,if Mcgregor gets into the boxing ring for the money ,he will get humiliated for sure,he does not have the stamina to last even 8 round inside the boxing ring and more over flyod is an intellegent men he knows he will get humiliated if he enters the octagon. i dont think so this match will be possible. who knows what the new owners will decide

McGregor wants to make money, and Dana white is a businessman so he wants to make money too, same goes for Floyd Mayweather. It's all a question of how much money on the line there would be for the fight. Im sure they all would agree to do a boxing match if enough money is on the table. McGregor has a big ego and thinks he can beat anybody in the world and Mayweather thinks he can't lose and it's a walk in the park. All parties want to make a ton of money. I say it's very possible that this fight will happen.

If you said this 2 years ago I would of said NO WAY! but I agree I mean look how
dead boxing is. I haven't watched boxing since Mayweather's last fight lol. Also UFC
lets in wrestlers and stuff. They clearly understand how to adapt and be successful.
This may be the fight that has a chance to save boxing otherwise in 10 years I think
boxing has a real chance of being a dead sport.

May be it is a possibility but i highly doubt it would happen because,Mayweather retired from boxing,he would speak like this once in a while to let people know he is alive  Grin Grin he is a businessman and he is marketing himself,in his recent interview mayweather said the match against Mcgregor wont take place and so on. But Mcgregor's next fight is finalised, as always Dana White bent his ways,he will be facing Eddie Alvarez for a title match in the Newyork card in UFC205.
