Hi!

I would like to introduce my latest project. The beta test (see forums »project development« area) was successful, so it's time to announce it to the public.

********************************

The Bitcoin Lottery!

http://bitcoin.dyndns.info/bt/

********************************

Feel free to register your bitcoin address and start playing.

Playing value:   0.1 BTC

Winning chance: 50%

Instant payout: if you win you will receive your profit instant.

********************************

UPDATE -> 22. Jun. 2011 21:44 h (CET)

Bet minimum: 0.1 BTC
Bet maximum 1.0 BTC

Win Class: Roll 100 - 200 = 150% payout
Jackpot Class: Jackpot Roll 200 = + 90% jackpot payout[/b]

-> See details on website.

<- Update end

********************************

How it works:

Step 1:
Register your bitcoin address and send 0.1 bitcoins to the shown address.

Step 2:
You have to wait until the bitcoin network confirms your bet. In the meantime you can see your name in the waiting list.

Step 3:
The server checks your ticket. If you win you will get an instant payout.

NOTE:
The Jackpot payout is updated after every players move, hence the payable amount may vary from the amount displayed at the rounds start.

The needed transaction fee is calculated for every transaction and may vary, too.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Thank you!

I thought people need another chance to generate some coins. Bitcoin mining with my standard CPU/GPU don't makes me happy ... ;-)

Thank you!

Now I count 3 wins with you name, and 2 losses.

But damn, you rolled a 99 in your last loss round.

Close, but no cigar.  Cheesy

A really nice lottery.
I win three times and lost two times. So it seems to be a fair game!

I will hang in there!

Thx everyone again for the positive feedback.

I liked the ideas and optimized the system. Lets have a look:

NEW:

50% winning chance! (same as before)

Bet minimum: 0.1 BTC
Bet maximum 10.0 BTC

Win Class 1: Roll 50 - 80 = 170% payout
Win Class 2: Roll 81 - 99 = 265% payout
Jackpot Class: Jackpot Roll 100 = 90% jackpot payout

Note:

+ I added 10 bitcoins to the bank. Now everyone can bet a value between 0.1 and 10 bitcoins.
+ I will add a view for the bank account balance in the next future.

Greetings!

So you don't take a cut of the jackpot?  This is just for fun for people with bitcoins?

No, I take a system fee of 5% = 0.005 btc

There is no Jackpot Cut, but the payout will only be 90% of the jackpot. As you can read on the website:

»Why only 90% of the jackpot? Please be so kind and leave some profit for the next player!«

At the current rates it's no project to get rich for me.

But you can see that some players get some coins without the jackpot:

12. Jun 2011 15:03 h   bmwministyle.co.uk   win: 0.698 btc
Bet: 0.28 btc   Rolls -> Win: 96 • Jackpot: 87

I thought of a cool idea for your lottery that will allow the users to interact more while at the same time proving you can't cheat. (I don't think you are!)

Have your program create a list of 1-100 with the outcomes randomly with each number. Eg.
1-lose,2-255,3-lose,4-jackpot,5-180,etc all the way to 100. After 100 have Random-987skjhckjh8 (bunch of random data)
Then hash it.

Now when the user plays they can pick a number 1-100. While they are picking they can see the hash. After they pick use the list to figure out if they won or not. You could display the list so they can rehash it to verify. Each person has a new list made. As long as you have some random data in it no one can know what it contains until after they pick!!

That would pretty much guarantee you can't manipulate results and lets people feel like they are picking!
I think it would be fun!!!

Um, how do you know? Are you sure the loses aren't within expected probability?

Hmmm. Well if he adopted my method it would prove he's not as he wouldn't be able to cheat. What are the numbers?

@Bitlotto: That seems to be a nice idea. I don't know exactly how to do it, but I will figure it out.

@bitblazing: What are you talking about? Maybe you are drago, who lost 3 times. Sorry man, I don't cheat and this is no scam. If you don't trust me please go a play on other sides. And of course there are other players who win higher amounts! The highest bet to date was 1 x 2 BT, just for peoples interest.

Maybe it was no good idea to allow higher bets than 0.1 btc.

Should I set it back to 0.1 or max 0.5?

To avoid further imputation please bet only 0.1 btc!

Good night for now!

Great! Using the method you will never be accused of weird odds because the person picked the number ultimately at the end and not your software. And since you said what 1-100 all would be before they picked, hashed it, then showed what it was after they picked. No one could accuse you of cheating. It's completely fair. Do you get what I mean or did I explain it weird?

You would pretty much show a hash when someone picks a number from 1-100. You would probably have to change it though so that first they make the payment and once it's confirmed the user can then select a number and instantly know if they won. If you did the number selection before the payment the user could accuse you of dropping payments for ones that would have won...
