Siemens to spend 1 bln euro for hi-tech startups including blockchain
The German industrial giant is planning to invest generously in a number of innovative projects. Among them are blockchain applications for the secure transfer of data in industry and energy trading.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Are you sure it is that positive?
It is not investing in BITCOIN, it is investing in blockchain tech and they will most likely will explore idea of creating private and independent blockchain suited for their needs.
They won't add any value to bitcoin's blockchain at all, so we as bitcoin users won't profit from their research at all.

It is good news from researchers point of view, but from standpoint of bitcoin community not so much.
