The .vnc folder should not be in documents. It should be in your user home dir.

Are you using a graphic environment? If so you don't need any command to create a file. Just right click, choose "Create file" and give it the name xstartup.

Being someone who isn't a technical user have you thought about using a OS that is more user friendly than what you're using, for example Ubuntu, where you can solve almost any problem you find with a simple google search?

I don't think I am using a graphic environment. I opened the shell and put in what you said but it inserted not a directory?. I can't change systems now we (my) son asked for advice and was told linuxos. I still need to  create a file when I right click on .vnc there is no   create file option.

I need to go out soon I will see what I can do tommorow thanks for your patience. reg

psy

I am in Spain gmt+1. my bitcoin client-rescan finished updating and shows 0 transactions? the other original client is still in my home directory but the run icon on my desktop points to the rescan client. I only had 0.09xxxxxx btc so not concerned about that but my receiving address from glbse still has dividends paid in. I have an original wallet.dat in the uk but was not going home until the end of April. meanwhile I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. If I cant get a response to my command what do I do? I tried it in run command box -nothing, I tried it in Kwrite- nothing, I tried in the shell= pc,terminals,console-nothing?  reg.

On PCLinuxOS TeamViewer can be installed from the repository. The package is provided by the PCLinuxOS team.
If you remember I sent a request to access teamviewer from a "repository" but have had no reply?.

OK, now I know your exact OS.
Let's see if we can advance further.

If Teamviewer is available on PCLinuxOS repositories why can't you install it?

None of those. Install it from the Synaptic package manager or open your Konsole and type
Code:
sudo apt-get install teamviewer

If the above code tells you the package teamviewer doesn't exist try using
Code:
sudo apt-get install teamviewer7
or
Code:
sudo apt-get install teamviewer8
