You should get stake at around 8-9 day. Most of my 30k blocks stakes in max 20 days (including 8.08 days lock). So right now stake you can get stake at ~200000-300000 coin weight, you start gaining weight after lock period (8.08 days)
Since Your coin have a lot of weight, if You plan to hold, consider spliting it into smaller blocks (100-200k is really ok) - since 808 dont have multisend/split blocks You need to do it manually by sending amount of coins to your wallet address.

You will lose out on compounding if you take this route. You stake 3 times in 60 days, the larger block guy can stake 6+ times.

Yeah, it's not worth splitting blocks under 100-200k. I've just have few of 30k blocks I've mentioned, and 500k+compound block staking, and i'm usually hitting stake with it maximum in 10 day.
Those 30k blocks are my freebies from staking. They are after roi so I don't really care when I'll get stake

Interesting, I'm staking on average 9-10 days with one large block like clockwork.  I just re-combine the stacks right after each stake.

I'm not sure combining coins every 8 to 9 days is a best practice.
You will lose time unless you check so often and it is not possible for most people.
I'll let the stack fragmented and combine stacks with really small amounts of coins.
Unless bigger stacks gets full percentage and smaller ones get lower percentage.
I think they are getting an identical percentage.

we all losing time, when we combine blocks, waiting for coins to be mature and waiting for staking confirmations which is around 100+ confirmations. its all part of the game, but in the end there is a huge gain

how long it takes for get mature? mine are still violet after 20 hours!

It's not exactly same as other POS coins. You are getting stake rewards for maturing period (unlike other coins), but you can get your stake only AFTER 8.08 day passed from time You got tx in Your wallet.
So basically, 'staking' starts at day 8, but rewards getting calculated from day 0.

Well, as i stated somewhere before current weight for single block to get pos is ~200-300k. So since 1 weight = 1 coin every 24h after 8.08 days ( So 8 days and ~few hours). Divide 300k by amount you wish your blocks have and You get days for stake.
I've calculated it lately if it won't change in year (but it would) ~750 coins should stake in ~365 days for full 808% intrest (+8.08 day lock period).
So let's assume (always add 8.08 days to time and +17% to intrest):
750 coins     -~1 year for 808 %
1500 coins   -~180 days for 404 %
3000 coins   -~90 days for 202 %
6000 coins   -~45 days for 101 %
12000 coins -~30 days for 51 %
24000 coins -~15 days for 25 %
50000 coins -~7 days for 12 %
etc.
If You have your wallet opened when tx shows as green in mining tab, You could have your stack faster than comes from rought assumption, mean values and observation

Once the coins stake then just wait for the confirmations to finish and then just re-combine the 2 blocks that split back into one large block. People won't lose much time at all when they think about it. So just say the coins stake while we are sleeping at 1am, then wake up up 7am and check, they have staked great! now the confirmations should have completed because it can take a couple of hours before the stake is confirmed as I believe it is 110 confirmations. So lets say they confirmed at 3am so in fact we just missed out on 4 hours which is nothing. Trust the ones that have been here the longest as we have been staking a lot longer and know the best way to make more with this coin. I have also tested many different strategies to see for myself and have found that having one large block works the best and then as soon as I stake I combine them back into one large block and if people want to take some profit take some but I wouldn't take more then 50% because it is best to keeping building on your coins as the network continues to grow and so we must all compete for stakes. Sorry for the long post but I want people to understand what is the best way to earn more stakes with this coin.

Today, Modem/router/extender acted up and I've spent several hours to fix it.
So my wallet was on and off in varying time span.
I got like 7 -8 generated but not accepted transactions.

I would guess, you get the reward, but you lose it if your wallet go offline right after the transaction.
Not sure if you're safe if the connection stays until get even 1 confirmation,
but I think it is very possible that the reward would been lost with just few confirmations(less than 6?) before the wallet lose connection.

If you get accepted but not genereted your coin should just start staking right away with it's weight after your stake is conflicted. So You should not lose anything, it should go back up with it's % (don't know how it's with 808, but almost every other pos works like that)

I also think the same and have been tweeting to Coinexchange.io for a while now but no reply to my requests for them to list 808 coin on their exchange. Now I was against the idea of a couple of members who said 808 coin should try and get listed on Yobit but now I think maybe it isn't a bad idea at all. Yes I don't like to use them as there always seem to have problems with wallets going into maintenance all the time and that their support is terrible. But just look at a similar coin to 808 coin that is on there, Buzz coin. Look at the daily volume that coin is getting and most of it is on Yobit, it averages around 15+ btc daily some days over 20 btc.

i think we have enough exchange sites, we could try to promote trading volume at novaexchange, because nothing happens there and the volume is very low.
meanwhile we should let the coin grow naturally as it already happen everyday. we can try to push it again to new exchange site in 2018, as we dont want pumpers and dumpers in this coin, only hodlers
