For OP, yes, it is legal to earn and hold Bitcoin in most countries, however I'm not sure whether or not it is legal in your specific country. Some countries don't allow for Bitcoin to move value out of the country (Iceland is one notable example) but they allow for Bitcoin to exist within its borders, with some restrictions.

Earn, hold and exchange the BTC to your currency and send that to your bank account you have in your country. A lot can be done. Using BTC alone can be illegal. But using your own currency is not. Exchange the BTC to your currency and use them.
I can't think of any instances where the user of Bitcoin at its core is illegal, but I guess it could be a thing.

Considering the current legal status of my country with regards to Bitcoin, it is legal for me to earn and hold Bitcoin, considering that I pay the income taxes for the income earned via Bitcoins. I guess the Reserve Bank here had some skeptical notions against Bitcoin usage, but certain law firms have released documents that ensure its legality.

It is the same here in my country.  Bitcoin is currently legal but not regulated by the government.  Although the site where we are buying and selling bitcoin somehow follow the government law and applying it to their customer by asking our identities or else we are limited only to around 43 usd - 45 usd withdrawal per day.

it would be legal if you search for it. if you steal course it is illegal, but if you hold bitcoin you have, of course, it's not illegal. how could it be illegal if you store the items you save. other than that bitcoin is not something that is illegal, so it is legal as long as you do not use it for anything illegal

Legal and illegal. Who makes laws and how makes laws ? Anybody knows.

I am living in democratic country so may be my views might different.

As if people are accepting then why not government accept it. As election took by voting same as there should be voting for bitcoin acceptance and then we shall calculate results.

It's illegal to hold it & earn it if it's BTC is illegal in your country, what question is that? If it's stated that it's illegal to have BTC, then it is. I have absolutely no idea how they can find those using BTC, but you better not risk doing it.

bitcoin is not under government, and does not have a legal entity. so you are legal to hold bitcoin as much as possible, and on the state you consider that bitcoin is illegal, it's not a big problem, because you are not using bitcoin to transactions in real.

According to coindesk, the only countries that seem to have bitcoins banned are Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam and just what you said, Iceland.
Other than that, bitcoins are legal to be used and held unless of course your state/region/place has it's own rules or laws about it.

Bitcoin is totally legal in more than 90% of the countries of the whole world. Even if its not legal in your specific country OP you can always hold the coins in a desktop wallet and you can use a VPN to use a different IP every time you are sending the coins. I think its ok to use the IP of your country when receiving the bitcoin as I think its hard to track the IP of the receiving person. I know that the starting point IP of the transaction can be tracked thats why I say to use a VPN when sending bitcoins. You should be safe. No country should give us limitations, bitcoin is created for this thing in the first place, decentralized p2p currency.

Government in my country has no rules for regulating bitcoins yet. Until and unless you convert bitcoins into fiat, nobody cares what you are doing with them. Though use of bitcoin is criticized by it.

It is 100% legit and safe to earn and hold your coins unless you are yourself involved in something fishy which your governments won't allow, like selling black market things.

it's not like that, in a few countrys is illegal.
OP need to search about his country's laws, or just hold some coins in some place without identification.

ya and i am thinking that yet most of the countries have not such statement about bitcoin that either it is legal there or not. therefore it may be legal there to earn or use bitcion. or even to hold it.

Here it's not accepted as a currency but some big businesses that grew out of bitcoin are taking that decision to court and try to get it accepted.
But there is nothing illegal about holding and earning bitcoins here, it's just that our government doesn't add value to it.

Not sure where you live but the government here does care about you and your Bitcoin holdings. They want you to declare every single Satoshi that you have, and also every single bit of profit that you make. All this to make you pay tax in order to create a new revenue stream for the government.

I think it depends on what country if it is legal to earn and hold bitcoin.  In my country Bitcoin is legal but not regulated.  It means earning and holding it will not result in any issue or problem.  Some country plainly ban bitcoin. Other is more strict with  bitcoin.

I am not sure what is the exact scenario in my country as I have never heard that it is banned or illegal but people are using it and I am using it too as there is no official announcement yet.
