I'm afraid I'll be sleeping during the halving. Someone PM me and wake me up with an email notification!  Someone should make one of those bots that are on Reddit that reply to your posts xD What time is it planned for? I don't think there will be an exact time until the last couple of blocks have been found buf jusf something close enough will do. We are in similar time zone, find oug for me and i will send you a text or telegram alert. It is estimated to happen at 17:35GMT, 9 July. For live halving stats and countdown you can check this site : thehalvening.com BTW it would around midnight here at the time when block 420000 would be mined. i hope to be awake at that time ! |

Now you have me wanting to try and do a "Milestone Giveaway" over at Just-Dice.com based around the Bitcoin halving -- ponders how to pull this off so that it is provably fair. bro Halving happens every 4 years. Other generations will be able to see that in the upcomming more years. There is really nothing too exciting with this years halving. Price will not go up. So the 1996 Olympics was the same as the 2008 Olympics was it ? I'm pretty sure they are historical events just like how the BTC reward at one stage "Long Ago" was 50 BTC then 4 years later it halved to 25 BTC which was "Long Ago" now we are hitting the 12.5 BTC halving, imagine when Bitcoin in 30 years time has a very low reward & people are fascinated by the amount of bitcoins that you could mine/generate compared to the future day they live in ? A bit like how we all envy the early adopters now as to the people in the Future with 1.78571428 BTC Rewards per block will be all up in envy about us 12.5 BTC reward blockers. I wasn't around for the first one so this feels special to me  |
