...

I have not heard that before: that Japan may join the ranks of big BTC holders.  IIUC, the largest HODLER of BTC is still the USA (although China is producing over 60% of new BTC in recent years).

groll, do you have any references or links that we could read?  If Japan gets into BTC in a serious way, that would be huge news.

After reading that article it is very clear that Japan is ready to take on the challenge to be on the top of bitcoin industries leading countries. As of now possibly they will be next to China in Asia. But who knows in the near future they may have the lead in the industry.

they have been getting ready to get in crypto world officially for a while. i read somewhere that Japanese officials are working on announcing bitcoin as a real currency, i don't know if they did that already or not but Asia in general is getting ahead of the rest of the world in bitcoin adoption.

I think for them it is just another token system, and we know they like their token systems as a alternative option for gambling and vending machines. The main difference is, the Bitcoin currency token can be use internationally and that is what makes it more attractive than their local token systems.

So yes, they are already worlds ahead of the rest of the world, with the use of token systems on a daily basis. ^hmmm^

Perhaps the fintech & BTCBTCBTC environment there is maturing up again. From what I've remember over the last few years the btc economy there plunged down along with Gox. Seems to me BitFlyer is leading the charge nowadays. The future is bright in there.

Japanese lawmakers have passed legislation requiring virtual currency exchanges to be regulated by the Japanese financial services authority. The country played host to one of the most prominent bitcoin exchanges, Mt. Gox, which collapsed in 2014 due to lax security and/or fraud—its users are still trying to claw back the millions they lost. According to the Japan Times, exchange operators are keen on the new rules because they would improve consumers’ trust in the industry.

Japanese investors are already affect the price of Bitcoin.
As far as I know, the recent rise in prices, which, in addition to the traditional pressure from Chinese investors, analysts, this time associated with depreciating against the yuan and the Japanese yen the dollar.

This is indeed a very good news to us bitcoin users, If Japan would pursue I think other countries will also follow and Bitcoin will change the way banks see and do transactions, Other banks will also get involved and BTC will go more stronger

These moves will help bitcoin to reach more and more users in terms of usage and methods of business and other forms. Also growth percentage felt on each country possibly tempt the next countries to grow against them. Already china had planned to create its own digital currency.

I think if japan and also some other giant nations increase their interest in bitcoin that it is very good for bitcoin economy not only sense of getting new pumps but also to make bitcoin more decentralized and not making it dominated by one single giant country which is currently china.

As long as the mining's there, China will still be the large swinging dick. The Japanese are probably a bit too conformist to get into Bitcoin in a big way but it doesn't take a lot of them.

Roger Ver said the average reaction to an explanation around the world when he went into the lack of state control was intrigue, in Japan it was fear.
