Anyone ever stop gambling? but then gamble again?

I don't think anyone who gambled before and said "He won't gamble again".
I probably bet he didn't mean that. The reason he told that maybe coz he lost a big bet or something else. In other words for most gamblers stop gambling means taking a break. I can assure one point or another in there life they return to gambling again for sure.

I came back because I was so bored and don't have something else to do and since I have some spare money I gamble it.

That's common. It happens on all the gambler, they stop for a while if they don't have money or some other circumstance that prevents them from gambling and then return when they are already fine or they have money again and a spare time. You cannot stop totally when gambling is still in your mind. You have to release it and focus on some things, like a long term job and have a long term goal also.

Well, as long as you are doing a healthy gambling activities in life then I would say that is fine to gamble again and again. That will give you more enjoyment in life as gambling is very entertaining, don't gamble when you have a problem like gambling addiction as it will not help you, instead, it will just make your problem worst.

No doubt about that, but I do think that doing gambling over and over again means that you are in the brink of becoming an addict. That means it might result to problem too. So if ever a gambler stops for a reason, it should be for good, but if you would just coming back, that's something that needs to be cure.

That's the reality of gambling, once you are a gambler, the tendency is to go back to it since you already have an experience in it... But the thing is, if you already decided to quit, coming back to gambling is foolishness, you already know how it feels, the losses, the time wasted that is supposed to be dedicated to your job and family...

But for sure there are gamblers who came back after few months or even a year, maybe because of desperation in life, they feel like there is no good opportunity for them to earn money...

Don't bother stopping yourself to gamble, you will not anymore if you kill your source of income. You are amazing to have that kind of skills to make gambling as your source of income while other people they considered it as only a source of entertainment as they need to spend money in order to gamble. I experienced this when you stop to gamble but your mind telling you to play and gain more. I didn't fell for my will but instead I fought for it. In my opinion some people come back for their losses and for the profit that the will gain. This factors will drag them to debts instead.

yep this is true. you you just stop gambling when you dont have money. it will just end up coming back. make a promise to your self that you will stop gambling. you can do it step by step. like a quitting cigarette. you can spend time on it little by little until you stop from doing it. you cant stop by instantly. if you do that method, someday you will just realize that you had stopped it.

That reason you gave is just for saying because the actual reason for returning to gambling is because they cannot leave gambling and they are addicted. There is no such pleasure that gambling gives at all, it is just the greed of money and addiction of it that we gamble again and again.

Same for me because when we leave gambling we feel like world is finished and there is nothing left.

You know the only way to overcome this ? It is by just by resisting that temptation for some more time and that's it.

Yes it is a big risk to treat gambling as a source of income. But maybe he already knows that. And he already develop some strategies and disciplines that will make him earn stable profit from gambling. The fact that money is involved in gambling makes more people get addicted to it and treat it to earn easy money rather than just entertainment.

I stopped for a couple of months, as I did not have enough bankroll and did not want to run on reserves in case I lose more money. I waited for 2-3 months so that I have enough money that I could call a healthy bankroll and then started again. There's really no point in gambling when you are close to broke as you are in extra pressure to make more money. I think it's not good to make gambling is a source of income. This is not a game to make money. It is just entertainment game. And in gambling, the winning strategy will not repeat in next bet. Definitely, that is the kind of thinking that every gambler should have. We can only think of that if we are not gambling based no our emotion, it should be our brain that must be followed over anything. Gambling isn't as dangerous as drugs. When sometimes you come back to gambling, it doesn't mean that you will be back, unlike drugs that your body is the one asking that you have to take in a new dosage. Sometimes you come back because of a reason and not the gambling itself. One reason is probably you are bored, no money, or having a problem with the outside world. But as soon as you settle those problems, and you are back at your track, I am sure you will leave gambling.
