I actually like the black nickel finish best (at least that's from what I could see in pictures, it might change once I got my set in hands, but so far).
I think it's something refreshing and (at least yet) unique. Would love to see more coins with a similar (or another not so popular) finish.

I agree.  The black is my favorite also.  I'm definitely going to try a few things in the future along those lines.   There are quite a few different finishes as options so I am going to find what else will look good.

A carbon black would look good or even a carbon fiber effect version would be worth looking at too.

I will only be taking set #14 as I'd like to add this to my collection. If anyone wants it #15 is now available.
I will post pics when I get them.

I do like the nickel black option not sure if there has ever been a coin with that finish before.
On another note this is also the first time a coin set comes with one BTC address/PrivKey.

I do understand some people may not like that, and of course need to be careful if some try to resell single coins, and private keys were handled by the mint.
However this doesn't necessarily mean the mint actually knows what the private keys are for and/or they will be dishonest. But better be safe than sorry.
I wasn't going to fund them anyway, as many other coins I see being sold on the forum, if they came as DIY or unfunded, I never seen one that was funded by the buyer.

For collection purposes this is rather unique (in my humble opinion), coins look great, a nice first ever black option, something different from all other coins... although unexpected.
The OP also mentioned this was a mistake, being the first coin production and all, maybe miscommunication with the mint side (not sure).
He has also been very accommodating and open, lucky this was discovered before any single coin was sold. And for $60 per set it's cheaper than many others.

These should be considered error coins maybe? What do you guys think? I'm happy to have them in my collection nevertheless. (Looking fwd to get them)

I'm aware there will be a new series so looking fwd to that, with the lesson learned I would expect something interesting. Wink

My set arrived today. I must say, they have a higher production quality than what I was expecting for a first release.  I like how they are slightly oversized and are nice and heavy in my hand.  Now I just need to find some airtites to keep them safe.  Looking forward to seeing what you come out with next.

If there is anyone left that had a pre-reservation and still would like me to hold on to it for them, please PM me in the next day or two as I will be allowing them to be purchased by others shortly.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback.   I am really glad you like them.    I love hearing things ike this about my coins, it definitely makes the work put into it worth it!

In other news, I am going to be taking a few sets of the cryptocracy series 1 coins and making them into something very special.   They will be 2 consecutively numbered set, with a padlock.   Engraved on the padlock will be a 2 of 2 multisig address.

1 coin from each set will be attached to a keyring which in turn will be attached to a key that opens the padlock.

I have not 100% decided on the exact details.   I will likely only produce 2 or 3 these to be sold as collectors sets.   With that being said, if there is anyone that potentially like a lock that has only 1 set included, and provide their own public key for the second address on a multisig address, feel free to contact me.

Pictures and more info to follow.   I expect the 2 Cryptocracy set / padlock collectors sets to be about 0.5 BTC as they are relatively expensive and use materials sourced from multiple locations.    I am working out the final details today.

Sounds good and looking forward to seeing some pictures of these things. Will you be able to lock your private key into them or what is the idea?

Anyone know what specific airtite will fit these without a inner ring?   They seem rather thick too.

The slabs i used for the genesis series 2 would work.  I believe they are 3mm thick (the coins) generally the thickness of military challenge coins, check airtite challenge coin capsules

maybe if you place something underneath the coin and sit it up closer to top edge it will be less noticable but it does look fine in this photo
