I don't understand why people keep offering small time casinos and dice websites when there is a much better option out there. Primedice is one of the oldest bitcoin dice games out there and they have been operating legitly for years now never screwing the customer and always delivering what was promised.

I partly agree with your comment. Indeed, it seems that people gamble more than trading nowadays. IMHO this is because there are still believers in crypto and they do not lose any touch with the cryptospace by just selling their coins. They prefer to give them a chance to get more (as you said) and have a profit from this shortage in the market.

Also, real-life casinos are not approachable to all the people. It is easier to visit an online casino and play with a "cheap" coin that has the possibility to grow more in value in the subsequent years. I believe this is the main motivation that pushes people into gambling more during 2018.
