Bitcoin is the greatest invention in digital technology in this century we are living. As long as the internet will survive, so will bitcoin.

I expect it to continue to be used for another 20-30 years at least without any problem or interference. I just hope the developers don't rush to do the Hard Forking after what's happened with the Ethereum hack.

Other than that I don't see any problem for bitcoin even in the coming years.

Yup, I think it will survive for long years, only that it will be a roller coaster ride... We can't expect the price to go stable, there will always be ups and downs but the good thing is it won't die... It already prove itself for the past years that it made a lot of swings...It floats like a rubber in the water...  Smiley

It is better for traders if bitcoin price fluctuates once in a while so you can have opportunity to enter a new trade.  If it is very stable and does not move, it will be very boring for traders. And that is why it will linger for a very long time. Traders and speculators will continue to support bitcoin.

I guess as long as the Internet exists and the blockchain is running, Bitcoin will survive. Economically, Bitcoin will survive as long as there is no coin that will surpass bitcoin. It's quite hard to say, though, that Bitcoin will survive forever because there's a lot of things that can happen on the Internet in such short time.

This is true.
As long as people mine and trade Bitcoin it will have value and therefore continue existing.
Furthermore it is right that we have no clue if Bitcoin can or will be replaced by another coin.
However this coin must have similat features.Meaning a finite coin supply, open and accessible for everyone.Decentralized and censorshop resistent with the possibility of open innovation on top of it.
Anything else is negotiable.

I don't see any reason for bitcoin to die within 2020, it may survive till we all live. Technology is advancing everyday however i am quite sure bitcoin will also keep on advancing to become more secure everyday.

yes I believe bitcoin will continue to survive for a long time, even until bitcoin depleted mined in decades will remain alive. This is the best technology I've ever found. bitcoin currency could be a good future.

2020 is only 4 years away. There are enough die-hard investors, who will stay invested at least until the next halving.
No matter what the bad news is, their faith in the system is unshakeable.

Bitcoin as it is, is already top secure where the network that powers Bitcoin is increasing in power year on year. Even with blocks containing just half the rewards compared to before the block halving, the difficulty is still increasing. And with that, the network is getting even more secure. However, what also important is, is that we focus on preventing centrality under farms. It's not a good thing that one entity with several farms owning the major part of the network.

This is a good indication that bitcoin is going to survive for a long time and I guess it doesn't need to survive either what people must do is adoption.

So when bitcoin is going to be adopted already people are going to use it for daily lives and it is going to be the medium of our currency.

And it is going to be our need for our daily life as an exchange for the fiat money.

they interested in bitcoin as investment right? instead as payment option.
bitcoin as investment more popular out there isntead as a currency, a digital currency.
it is okay , they know as investment at first time but slowly they will know and feel comfortable use bitcoin as currency. more investors more time to bitcoin to survive.

Yeah, i'm sure in 2020 people will still using bitcoin and bitcoin will survive. For me, bitcoin can survive forever if people keep using bitcoins, if the people stop using bitcoin anymore, bitcoin will dead for sure.

You guys act like Bitcoin is written in stone or something. All Bitcoin needs to do is update and hardfork to adapt any tech a new coin offers. Bitcoin isn't failing, whoever thinks that is an idiot.

Of course it will.  And by that time many people were already familiar on what bitcoins can do.  The life of bitcoin is dependant to us.  If many people will continue supporting it then bitcoin will still be around even beyond 2020.  It id always depends on us.  So if you want bitcoins to last we should help each other on that goal.

No one knows.

Too many variables.

it could be killed from the inside, like it seems some are trying right now.

it could be replaced by altcoins.

it could be killed from the outside.

But the longer bitcoin stays the top dog of crypto, the less likely it will be destroyed, however it's never quite 0%.

Bitcoin may well survive at least another 30 to 50 years. By that time, most of the coins are mined and miners are surviving on transaction fees as the block reward (at 0.02 BTC) would be too small by then. We will be at the 12th reward era, but as early as the 7th era 99% of all bitcoins have already been mined, so the next 50 to 100 years it's almost just all transaction fees.

The 8th era is estimated to be 2036, but if history is any indication, we get there a year or two faster than what we can estimate today, so maybe 2034 or 2035. By 2032, the block reward is under a whole bitcoin or about 0.78 BTC.

If bitcoin survives in 30 years, then it will likely survive for another 30 after that.

i think no one can say anything so sure about bitcoin that how long will it say, but i am hopeful that bitcoin is going to be one of the best world crypto currency and it will stay for ever and people will use it as a currency for buying and selling every thing.
