assuming this is an honest technical issue and coinbase hasn't officially gone tits up... have they destroyed faith to the point they can still operate or is this a death nail?
They have plenty of work to do but right now it's just growing pains. They are a legitimate company with a lot of funding. Plus working with USA and banking regulations must be a nightmare.

I've used it to cash out a number of times, with no problems. Something like $1,000 spread across 4 cash outs. I did try to buy once, but was told the daily limit was reached. So I use other sources to buy and Coinbase to cash out.

I'm very curious to see if coinbase will lose a large number of users after this. I have been waiting almost a week for coins to clear, but will stick with coinbase due to the convenience.

And there it is; as inconvenient as Coinbase is they still offer the most convenience.

I've been trying to buy Bitcoins through CoinBase for 4 days now, but no luck so far.

Just got this pretty quickly after formally complaining... Joseph P replied: We have been working hard to re-architect our backend to keep up with growth. The demand for bitcoin recently has been amazing and the site has received a large increase in traffic. We realize it is very frustrating to have transactions stuck in a pending state. Rest assured that they will go out. This delay definitely wasn’t our intention; the growth caught us off guard and it’s been pretty embarrassing to let down our customers. We plan to have all the transactions go through and be cleared up by tomorrow. Thank you for bearing with us as we try to keep up with the growth of bitcoin! This is probably as good a time as any to mention that if you are in the SF bay area and know an awesome software engineer, we’re hiring: https://coinbase.com/jobs . As you can tell, we have no shortage of things we need to build! I wonder how much higher the exchange rate would be had they not been botched all week.

I think the recent price/demand explosion caught them off guard. When I first used Coinbase, I never had any problems.

Seems like they are suffering one of those 'good problems' in business....too much demand

I would be wary, I've bought 3 coins from them a week ago (before the issues started). Now, I'm currently sitting at -10 coins. Still waiting a response from them.

Coinbase is a joke now. In order to purchase you are buying at an unknown price nearly a week into the future. The primary strength of Coinbase previously was the ability to buy Bitcoins at current market price with a bank account. Yes, you had to wait for funds to clear and all that rigamarole but you could lock in the price you were willing to buy at. With the volatility in the BTC market only a fool would commit to a purchase at a price to be determine 5-6 days in the future.
