Hello Folks,
I started collecting crypto coins a couple years ago and have always been fascinated by these storage devices that sort of bridge the gap between the physical & virtual world. Many beautiful items have spawned in that time so the demand must be high, however I've always found it difficult to get a reference for some of the rarer items around. It usually involves searching these forums to find long lost threads or even ending up at the dead website link of a previous manufacturer.
There was a hard back book released recently which helped address this situation and the digital version when released in full will be also be very useful. However I think there is room for a more frequently updated and flexible source of information - so I started building
Item Ace. It is still in the very early stages, as I'm programming the structure for it right now.
The key factors will be decent photos of the cryptocurrency objects, denominations, weight, measurements, mintage quantities. There will be listing pages so you can browse by supplier and a basic search function. It can lead on to another project that will be valuable to the community but will keep that for later.
Now before fully taking the plunge, does anyone else see this being useful? Is there anything else that should be included? Will people be willing to contribute original photographs and input?
It will be made flexible enough to display different crypto currencies, no value items (unloaded, disassembled), artwork and non-coin categories.
