I think even this is considered gambling, I do the same thing every now and then I don't deposit I just use the faucet. I still think this is considered gambling though.

EDIT: I mean mostly kids online, its hard to be a kid and gamble physically. I feel like the gambling rate for kids is increasing a lot and is gonna be a problem in the future, especially with the CS:GO situation.[/center]
Isn't Valve already taken care of this problem? Not that long ago they requested every 3rd party service where you could bet on CS matches with your in game items to shut down?
This kind of gambling is really easy for them to monitor and nuke. I don't think it would be much of a problem anymore. Unless betting sites will go deep underground or something.

From what i know value just shut down a few csgo gambling websites, I don't think they are targeting kids and preventing kids from gambling.

So you mentioned about CS:GO (steam game) here in my place many of my kid friends who are gambling with DotA 2 bettable items. I just don't know if that is still on the go, because I heard that steam disabled the betting of their items. But still they manage to gamble for betting it per game they do. And their range is ranging 12-18 years old.

No they are not. They can't nor they have the authority to do so. Children are responsibility of their parents not Valve or anyone else.
Shutting down places where children could place a bet is enough - maybe if the problem will persist in some way then Valve could add some new mechanic to the skins, tagging them somehow.
As long as you will be able to trade items thought Steam you will be able to gamble - for example betting vs your friends privately.

You can still bet on games via steam, its just much less widely supported or known about now.  Its not actually upto Valve to regulate how people trade such items but somebodys mommy complained about little jonny spending all his cash on gambling.    There was also a massive drive by young adults to push alot of their audience of teenagers into gambling large amounts, very deceptive practise and basically fraudlent enough to justify jail time.

However the linchpin to all this is that game items, little pixels on a screen with bright colours arent really money even if people do use cash in order to get them.   Same way that bitcoin itself is a token not classed as currency in many countries.     So the gambling was of non cash items and in any case it was done by individuals own choice privately.   Small companies were setup to take advantage of the young user group which is where it becomes so unfortunate and exploitative.    The main path to suing is to attack the largest profitable enterprise so they went after Valve who then did make some attempt to throw out or restrict these grey area firms.

You can still bet cash directly on computer game matches, I imagine this is considered directly a regulated industry.  They do check age more often in that case.   Gambling at a young age is still a thing in modern games, to summarise.
The Valve system is a raffle type game, I consider that gambling and its targeting children.  They have cut down on more obvious dice games not under their own control but not their direct business of cash for items (Raffle) which is a form of pay to play, like the old arcades I guess.  Since it involves luck its gambling, the wider issue was sports gambling which is 90% gone

Do you think that it would be possible for the steam marketplace to still be up without gambling existing in it at least not in large amounts?

Yea I was gambing under 18 and now I have 18 about 2 weeks was my 18 year bitrhday but I gamble online from 1 year ago and my first sport betting tikets was when  I was 5 years old hehehe but gambling can be good for kids which are under 18 because If they gamble smart they can earn a lot but I think that gamble for under 18 need to be allowed but with some limits.
i am not sure you would be allowed to gamble if the site mods knows that you are below the legal age as it is clearly written in terms and conditions of every site and i have seen people being banned in dice site for boasting the youngest individual gambling. And you could really gamble under the radar since no body really finds out unless and until you start talking  Wink
Yes, no casino sites will allow under 18 kids to play gambling, they will put some restrictions but now the kids easily escape all restrictions and playing gambling. In online we can not guess the player's age, only if they start to chat with other players, we can able to guess that's it. But in my surrounding, i have not seen any kids that they are playing gambling.

that's how kids being caught they have small patience and act like at their age but in sports betting it can't be detected since bitcoin is freedom they can easily place bets without providing their personal info especially their age so many high school student really enjoying sports betting using bitcoins.

Experience something that is long enough for the age under 18 years of age. I don't know what you mean do gambling, but certainly I am sure that you already have some tragedy that get you the defeat. Indeed in the Sports gambling especially seriously fun because there we can easily for profit, but it's all going to be a big loss if it can not control themselves, because a good self control our lives in gambling will be a bad friend. Beware

I accept it gambling really give us fun and entertainment, but instead of them, I am not agree that under 18 kinds should play gambling, Because of many reasons, but in short, I think when our government not allow it to play for under 18, than should avoid all those type of works, which not allow us, because it is better for our future.

Also, if you play games like csgo through voice chat you can hear their are kids who are under 18, and have either admitted to csgo gambling or have it in their name.

Yeah right most asian already gambled even they still in the early age i guess its just part of their culture enjoying gambling even they are under age local betting also allowed them but not the casinos because its really strict regarding to the age of their participants and rules of their government.

I want to know if anyone here gambles or have gambled under the age of 18, I feel like there are many kids who do this and I am interested to see how many people actually gamble under 18, if you have any friends that gamble or have gambled under 18 include them.

EDIT: I mean mostly kids online, its hard to be a kid and gamble physically. I feel like the gambling rate for kids is increasing a lot and is gonna be a problem in the future, especially with the CS:GO situation.

EDIT2: Another question to ask, is what is your opinion on the topic of kids gambling, do you think it is a growing problem or a problem alone for that matter?

EDIT3: What is the best way to counter this problem without websites having to know your exact identity?

For EDIT 3: There must be a ID verfication before login in or a selfie with your ID . Just like in app before cashing out the money in gambling there must have too. Or all gambling sites must have a registration in government agencies which seems impossible.

I am now 18+ and I am gambling since I was 16.I think it is not a big deal that gambling under 18 age but should be careful. If any person under 18 can control his temper there's no problem. But often kids become very hopeless and lost their temper or become greedy and bet high. This could bring problems.

Yes. Most of the people who gamble are minors. As they need money to buy things and they can't get from their parents. They use gambling for them to have a lot of money and buy things. That's bad for the gambling because minors manage to gamble even if they don't have a money of their own. They can use their parent's money just to gamble.

I dont think the minor gamble to get what they want. They usually gamble due to peer pressure cause they want to join in the fun with their friends. They treat it as a form of entertainment while hanging out with their friends.
They don't really get what they want minor always think that gambling is really fun and they making it cool if they are going to play. They don't know the real risk everytime they playing it loosing money getting addicted asking money just to play gambling is a sin , even they purpose is just to hang with friends or just to entertain other players.

If you are up below 18 year's of age you aren't allowed to play gambling but if you really don't care about this rule of gambling site' then you can just edited your birthday there and the date you were born if you are just betting for games of CS:GO Dota2 is okay and don't try to play physical gambling.
