If I was a store owner I'd accept zero confirmation transactions from the people I know personally or from regular customers who I know wouldn't cheat. And by the way I think it's not so easy to execute a double spend, so I think if you are not selling very valuable things for BTC you should be okay even accepting zero confirmation transactions from complete strangers.

Hmm ,
Yeah about that double spend.

Have the same wallet up & synced on 2 devices , send all of my BTC to another address I own , including a send fee, on the 1st device
then send you your payment on 2nd device with no send fee,
You see Zero confirmation appear on your device, I walk out of store.
My BTC safely arrives at my other address, and your zero confirmation never receives 1 confirmation.   Tongue

So you gave me your product for free.

Yes! there is a big possibility to be happen in the long run. And that will be good news for the bitcoin enthusiast it will be convenient also for the shoppers if that happen in any malls or supermarket.
We just have to be positive all the time, the future is great for bitcoin and businesses will eventually adopt. They are not the first to adopt but the people, if we can attract more users, this business might consider accepting bitcoin to take advantage of the great market.
Stores will never take risks and at the same time they would not like to clog up their store because a confirmation has not occurred since a few hours and that will make a issue bro. I mean stores either will find a way to solve this or won't accept BTC and unfortunately that's the reason i think  Bitcoins are not being used as much as they should in real life.

Day to day transactions not suits bitcoin technical side.
Bitcoin is best at store of value, as paying for goods abroad, making big transactions... but micro payments? Bitcoin not suited for this, there is need to third party application connected to bitcoin blockchain somehow, that will make micro transactions viable.

Well atleast bitcoin doesn't get raped by pump and dump scam. Wink

LOL, you paying over $700 for BTC right now,
on Jan 16th, 2015 you were paying ~$218,
On Nov 13, 2013 you were paying ~$1275 per coin. (Those guys are still in the hole.)

Looks like a Pump & Dump to me, Next Dump is due in late Jan 2017.  Wink
Set your clock.

 Cool
Since we are getting back to the past, at 2013 there were few bitcoiners, and a small community around bitcoin, soo someone were able to do with bitcoin what we do with altcoins the pump, and then the dump. Since those buble, bitcoin community has found the real value that bitcoin should had, 200 dollars, and nowadays its growing accordingly the halving. The difference from the past for now, is that bitcoin has a huge support, huge investments, great value and potencial to cross the past value, something in the past were just few people.
Sure we would like to get the transactions confirmed instant, but i do see the confirmations as the high security of bitcoin, making it the most safe place to do any transactions even with them taking some minutes as some hours.

i do not have any problem waiing for sometime i always did that and i belive if i can not even pay a little fees for a huge amount then it really didnt worth it. waiting for some 10-20minutes makes things a bit slower but if you want to get ridge of it then why not accept zero confirmations

Wasn't there talk about a fork that would shorten the confirmation time for bitcoin. zcash coming up the back with super fast confs could be a game changer.

I have a problem with the confirmation today, I have been waiting for my transaction to confirmed and it's  like 5 hours already which is still unconfirmed in the blockchain. No choice but to wait, I can't gamble for now as I suppose to transfer that amount from my local exchange to gambling sites.

I think there is no need to wait for confirmation because Bitcoin payments are irreversible even with sudden payment if the receiver ( shopkeeper ) confirms that he received the Bitcoin in his wallet then without waiting all things will done correctly .

Well if they want to they should because many of us use bitcoin and some of us can't bank it out, its very possible like 711 they accept bitcoin but i think you should register first your account or something just to inform them that you pay bitcoin yes its transaction is kinda slow but they will find out or make another cashier for customers who uses bitcoins to spend in local store to buy some food or drinks i would like to try it so that i can spend my bitcoin any how they will find the right way to fix that problem because every problem will be solve if money is involve Cheesy that's what i have in mind but its not clearly what you are looking for hehehe.. im sorry Cheesy i did my best so have  a good day to you Cheesy

Bitcoin transaction will be very fast if you use high fee, but it all depends on the circumstances whether the transactions that occur will be very fast, fast, normal, slow, or very slow.

The transactions can be seen already on the blockchain. Whether or not it's confirmed, the store owners wallet can see that a payment has been made, it just needs to be confirmed to have the payment on the wallet, other than that I think it's okay to have the transaction ID just to monitor it. It also depends if the owner wants bitcoin transactions, if he does, he should probably know the characteristics of bitcoin and the advantages and disadvantages of it when accepting it. Patience is a virtue anyways.
Well, unless a transaction is confirmed the money is not yet yours, its said like that by even the experts and stores if accept them they wont have that much time to check transactions from each customer whether it has proper fees or not, whether its a double spend or not and what not. So they would love simple and quick confirms.

maybe you're right. the fee is high, it might speed up transactions. but, there are fees that the set in each wallet, or elsewhere exchanger. so, I guess it would not make any changes, because the transaction has indeed been done quickly, but, confirmation will be very long, because it takes a few minutes or hours before confirmation

But I think it all is not something that can benefit all of us or may not work. because all of that also depends on the confirmation of mining, or if they do find a block transaction we do it quickly then the confirmation provided is also fast and it also isn't hanging from a high cost. But it's all also depends on the speed of high-cost mines, confirmation will only make us bankrupt or lose out to get something

I would suggest changing wallets if you can't change the fee yourself.
When the network is under a lot of stress (a lot of unconfirmed transactions), it's a good idea to set a higher fee yourself to make sure it gets confirmed faster.

Too bad you usually can't change the fees when you withdraw from an exchange.

You can deposit bitcoin into a bitcoin address that the shop gives you (say the supermarket) then they just minus the amount each time you shop and then you must top it up again. Every time an item you buy is scanned it will minus off your wallet automatically. You just add more bitcoin.
Or maybe they can make some software or script that checks the possible risks like if you have paid too low fees thenyou wait else they take your phone number and allow you to leave the store.
But in some rare cases there still might be scams possible as technical people know how to double spend and all, dangerous and hence I peersonally would wait for confirmation lol

Personally I would like for bitcoin to become dominant as an online payment before we try to make the jump to buy things in physical store specially those that are very time sensitive like buying groceries in the supermarket where confirmation time will need to be super fast, a matter of seconds.
