Actually I would say that when it comes to government agencies in the United States FinCEN would be the lead agency on this issue. If one acts as an MSB by reversing transactions then it seems to me that MSB registration become a legal requirement. Let us not forget the initial distribution of Ethereum here also.

I support it over VitalikTualcoin yes. I own essentially none of either though. I was looking at buying some ETC as mid-term speculation when it establishes some sort of bottom. Maybe that has happened already and I missed it, but I'm not sure.

If they add margin trading for ETC (and I think they will) the Dao attacker can take out a massive margin long, and skyrocket the price, speculators will piggy back on the attacker's trades.  I fully expect the two to reach parity at the very least, no way the attacker cashes out at such low prices.

You should have both ETH and ETC. How and where you will send coins i have no ideas. But if you will only be able to send one, make sure to not delete the wallet, since other will be still there.

I understand that. I am trying to encourage the debate to move past the binary issue of immutability to discussion of the circumstances under which a fork might be good or bad and how consensus can be built in the community around these values in a way that isn't damaging to crypto.
