The profits would be rather low since most exchanges usually make around 1% in fees, any higher than that, people would choose to buy online instead. The rent for the shops wouldn't be cheap unless you're talking about places that are further away from the tourist hotspots. Even so, people would likely just purchase online and you would still need several shops. Not to mention that your company must be compliant with the local AML/KYC policies.

not sure are you talking about buying products or only buying bitcoin. for buying products with bitcoin is an good idea , if some shops allows bitcoin to buy product directly from wallet or bitcoin debit card is good thing for the bitcoin industry . i seen on this forum some threads mentions about bitcoin debit card and buying products on shop . He is talking about bitcoin buy and sell with fiat currency.Like in London have a shop where you can buy or sell bitcoin with pounds similarly as in Shanghai you can buy or sell bitcoin with Yuan.I would be great if every big cities have a shop like this.people will be most encourage to use bitcoin. I dont think it would be feasible plus there would be a risk of bitcoin stealing by employees or theifs.I think online shops would be better when it comes to bitcoin I think it will not happen, because the account we can wear while there are us and when we are not there, then we leave the addres of btc and the barcode. Because by simply using a barcode or addres btc we can conduct transactions and employees can't commit fraud Good but then what Is the purpose of having a physical shop ? Bitcoin is not a physical commodity that we usually like to check/inspect before buying to ensure its quality and features. This is not the case with bitcoins

Hey Guys, what would be your opinion if there would been Bitcoin shops in big cities like London, Berlin or Paris (also smaller cities). So you could go inside the shop and buy or sell Bitcoin for a good price. I think it would be an good (and an advantage) idea because more people would use Bitcoin so the price would rise up and the people who are owning Bitcoins at the moment would have more money in Bitcoins. Best regards, Patrick it should be good idea. my question is what about people who live far from those big cities? it should be difficult to them to buy or sell bitcoin there. anyway why should we buy "offline" in the shop instead of buy online in our lovely house? no offense

Because doing so would indeed be more and more people are using bitcoin, but it will also have an impact on the process of transactions carried out by the system. May experience slowness in processing transactions, since the system will definitely experiencing fatigue in processing the data every second is always working to thousands or hundreds of transactions

It is indeed advantageous to have a large shops that accepts bitcoin. You can automatically pay the cashier with bitcoins instead of selling bitcoins and putting it in a bank and you are charged with fees. Aside from freedom from surcharges and other fees it is very easy and safe since you don't need to carry your money which may lost or be grabbed by robbers.

Best regards, Patrick what would be the benefit of using such shop instead of a regular online exchange service? and what do you mean by a good price? is it lower than market price? then by how much? also what kind of payments are you going to have? every one of these questions are important to find a good answer for. first of all you can't really sell bitcoin for lower than market price because you will go bankrupt. so there is no benefit there. if you are going to accept credit cards, .... then what is the point of the shot, i can already do that while sitting on my ass at home behind my desk. the only good thing that comes to my mind is, if you accept cash only for selling bitcoin and for that there is already locanbitcoins that you can buy anonymously from an individual.

It really isn't a bad idea to start off a business like that so why do not you try it and see if it would work?

But of course, my statement can be just applied if majority of bitcoin users will do that thing.

It's not bad idea, but i think it will be hard to be done, as in some countries Bitcoin is not legalized yet and also there is a lot of people don't even heard anything about it till now

This could be a good thing, but if somebody incompetent runs this shop i could also very quickly become a bad thing for bitcoin and the reputation. The real problem is in my opinion some kind of licence, that will be needed in most countries. Those are not so cheap and hard to get and without jail time is something you can expect.

In my city, I think it will take some more time, as till now we are not embraced even with the system of Bank cards in our shops, there a few big shops in some big cities which accept bank ATM cards, and that are used much lower, If bitcoin technology is reached to every person, then I think the chance will take place that some stores start accept bitcoin for their payment etc.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the way i see it is that the problem would be if it was illegal, and not if there isnt formal legalization of bitcoin. Logic being that they cant attack you for something that they dont have laws for ?! Bitcoin shops are excellent idea, but i doubt there would be some turnout for owners of such stores - that's why most tend to open up online stores instead of physical ones.

Best regards, Patrick Its going to be a good news for everyone but its still a form of speculation because things like that dont happen overnight without the backing of a legitimate force which is the Government to enact law to proclaim Bitcoin a legal tender and until that is done, everything else is speculation. I might sound pessimistic but that is the fact...my 2 cents

Big cities will adopt way faster then small villages, but the thing is you have to reach to shopowner and that's very hard because it cost many resources - Flyers - Marketing people etc. Doing it online is much easier, but i am positive some day it will happen.

A BTC shop? BTC isn't so special. I would prefer to trade it at a bank, like most fiat currencies. I've long asked for it. In every airport and most big train stations, there are small shops providing change between local and foreign currencies. That's where I want to buy and sell BTC.

Well the gold stores had sucess and opened several in several places, i believe with bitcoin being the buy and sell the only service you will need to profit, but sure would be great to go to a store and sell my bitcoins and get the cash in hands, i believe it may work is you dont have to rent a space.
