I am in a position where I need to sell 3-4 BTC to handle some health issues.
It's impossible.
Coinbase is a fraud and I do not trust them with my bank information after they scammed me years ago.
Localbitcoins is not much better. I bought several BTC on there last year and early this year. Some idiot gave me the wrong name to send to, so I had to go back to Moneygram in person and change it for them. After I left negative feedback, he labeled ME a "scammer." I am on "forced holiday" now and have been for months, even though I've never attempted to do anything dishonest.
eBay is worse. Sold .5 on there - to some scamming idiot who sent me a fake Illinois driver's license scan - it had a woman with a Louisiana address and listed her at 6'4", 245lbs.
Local Craigslist ad. Waste of time. No replies.
How the hell do I get MONEY for these? It's worthless if you need cash fast. I've run an online business for over 10 years, have great eBay feedback, etc.

Seriously don't you have more solid exchanges beside Coinbase in the US? I heard there are many, including fully regulated by BitLicense like Gemini. Why people are using Coinbase, despite I hear everyday that someone is crying about his wallet/account blocked by them?

It sounds like you haven't tried very many exchanges that are dedicated to Bitcoin, aside from not trusting Coinbase and LocalBitcoins. there are some other exchanges that exist that you could try, like Bitstamp and BTC-E, however I haven't used them personally so I recommend you go and check what they have to offer first. I personally think Bitstamp might be one of the better options for you to check first.

Seriously, you don't need to do that if you are resident of the US. There are many ways to sell/buy BTC in US if you want to do it legally and don't have problem with KYC procedures. Here is a list for serious exchanges/services where you can buy and also sell BTC: https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/en/us/

KYC procedures are complete bullshit.
Just tried signing up with Gemini. They want everything but a DNA sample.
Don't have a utility bill lying around (I try to pay my bills promptly) so can't scan one to sign up.
Next.

You could try paxful.com, there are many people there wiling to buy bitcoins for a range of payment methods as long as you make sure that you are trading with a trusted person you can get a great rate. Local bitcoins is similar to this.

Have you tried Coinimal ? They offer really good payment options for you when selling bitcoin like Skrill and Paypal. However without the utility bill you will not go that far as they will limit you greatly and without being verified the maximum amount you can sell there is 50 USD per day.

Why don't you use this forum? There are some traders here that trade for bitcoin and have a small fee for their work. You can choose the more reputable ones, but they might cost you more.

It's not the first complaint related to coinbase. I don't know if there's authenticity in it, but this is getting worrying.

Paxful is OK so far. Found a trader who paid well, covered the PayPal fee, and had 1000+ positive transactions with zero negative.
No Bitcoin ATMs near me.
Coinbase scammed me years ago. I confirmed all their bullshit, bought a few hundred dollars worth, the price skyrocketed, and suddenly I was "unsafe" - after the money was already in their account. I ended up with zero BTC and waited days to get my money back. Never again.

I should move away from coinbase as fast as I can. I have an account with them, stored some satoshis in their online wallet, they were recommended to me so I assumed they must be good

I've used coinbase several times and never had a problem, but if they scammed you, then maybe you shouldn't use them. Consider selling them to someone you know that is into bitcoin or maybe sell to a trusted member of this forum.
