Reading the road map of the coin is going to be a good sign that they care worth to invest. It depends on how you can see the market and price of that coin. If you saw that you already earned good amount just sell it

Road map is not the thing through which we have to believe on any project but we have to look at the developers that how much are they expert and have to observe that how much are they active in fulfilling their promises in the read map. If they are completing their promises then it mean that the coin will increase more higher in the future.

I think being updated with the recent events doesn't help at all unless they published the article before the majority of people find out and you got your investments out quickly. But if you're a tad late, your investment is already ruined and I think you would always be late about the recent events because you're not 24/7 refreshing every altcoin/bitcoin news websites.

For example, when the dev has ran away, a huge percentage of the total holders are already dumping all of their coins. Before you know it, you already lost a decent amount of money just because you were a little late about the news.

It's unpredictable and the result of your trades should be unexpected. And that is why I admire those people that is making trading as their main source of income because it is really hard to predict what will happen to your trades when it comes to pricing. There are times that they are good in their trades and manage to earn a lot but there are times of disappointment too.

All thoughts are thinkable but here I my opinion we should never make trade with that amount of money or bitcoin whose loss you can bear , because it is universal word that trading reauls into profit and loss both ( somewhat similar to gambling ) So the amount invested in trading should be free of need  ,never made trading with that money , that can can't handle by you .

Roadmap is just a clarification how they are going to develop but even some times they won't follow the roadmap. The main thing you need to find about people responses about coin and how far it is attracting people.
