well it is unpredictable, because you can't control all these price rises and dumps, but you still can control it a bit because you don't have to sell your coins when price is small

If the coins is dump , you can play safe with sell it on that moment , before going dump again. And you can move your coin to diff coins.
For recover your loss , keep an eye with volume and price movement for doing trading.

if you have a problem, technical issue you submit a ticket with the support team. and if you want to chat about cryptocurrencies there are forums, chat rooms and reddit for that.

Chatbox is the way to kill the boredom in trading platform. All you can see in trading platform is all numbers and this is the way to give some entertainment and to communicate to the user. OP is talking about trading in general and not specific to anything.
also a currency is something that you can use to purchase goods with, and this is not true for 99% of altcoins so you can not consider them as currency as long as the only usage of them is to be traded or to be exact pump and dumped.
but bitcoin is a different story since it can be used as a currency for purchasing goods you can not call it commodity it would be like calling USD commodity because it is being traded in forex market against other currencies.

For an entity to be a currency, it has to be stable. So that people can mark their goods with that currency. Otherwise, it is not a currency.
