Gambling sites are not worth for hackers to use energies since amount is lower. Some sites have been exploited due to some unknown bugs in script. I have heard once or twice hardly about exploitation issues but hacking didn't come in my knowledge so far. Exchanges are always at risk since they flow large amount of money in hot wallets as well.

Everything is in interest of hackers, if they managed to quickly find some vulnerabilities, the reason why we don't see much hacks of casinos is because they keep most of their Bitcoin offline. Exploits are more serious threat to them, but they can always make checks before paying to some suspicious winners. Also, in case of exploits players money should be technically safe, only investors risk.

Don't know about the history of gaming sites that have been hacked, but just as I do with exchanges, I never keep more funds than I need on a gambling site, just in case the site does get hacked or decides to abscond with player funds.
of course no one should be keeping their money on gambling websites, a lot of gambling websites go bust and they run away with all the money deposited

True, no one would intend or do to store  their money  on a gambling site because  most of us for sure when we  win on a gambling game we directly  withdraw it without any hesitations. I do only heard on exchanger sites that are being hacked but  in gambling  sites i didnt heard such one news.

Why anyone wants to hack gambling sites , where you will get nothing much, ya it may be that they hack the gambling site to get the next result of the casino, or mess up with the bets and try to win with his bets. But then also i think it will get caught. Gambling sites are with more security and their only peoples lose their bitcoins. So gambling site wont get hacked.

I like to delve into bitcoin history a lot. as we all know there've been a ton of crypto exchanges that have been hacked, but i'm really struggling to think of any gambling sites that have been hacked. maybe I haven't been paying enough attention.

does anyone know how many there've been? they seem like obvious targets to me with masses of coins flowing through them.

what are they doing differently compared to exchanges? i'll guess plenty of exchanges are inside jobs. does this mean gambling site operators are incentivized to be more honest in general too?

there wasn't a ton of exchanges hacked, there was only 2-4 exchanges which were hacked but the amounts were big.
you don't hear about the casino hacks in big news like bitfinex hack because the casino bankroll is never as big as exchange (120KBTC). but it happens all the time.
the smaller sites get hacked all the time even small exploits in their code that leads to someone winning a lot by using that.
even primedice has been the target, i don't remember the exact amount but i think someone used a bug to steel hundreds of bitcoin from them.
I agree, bitcoin exchanges are susceptible to get hacked and loss so many btc which bad to price that would be fall down and it's get into hot news that discussed by everyone. Gambling sites also get hacked like Primedice loss BTC100 and others gambling sites that maybe get hacked but not become a hot news because it's not exposed which bad for the business.

I was reading an article about casinos doing ddos attacks on their competition
in order to damage their rep. It was a Korean site but I know its also happened
with a few sites in Australia.

I have never heard any casino sites being hacked, if attacked by user with ddos, yes there are several sites being attacked and cause the site to stop working, but if being hack then the money being stolen i think it hasnt ever happen yet, or maybe the sites has a great way to cover it, because losing money because of hacker is going to destroy the site reputation

Once upon a time hundreds of news sites were shouting something like this "Primedice Bitcoin Gambling Site Hacked for $1M". But technically it was more exploiting rather than hacking. Never heard about actual hacking of a gambling site. I think that's because of two things: first their security is strong and second you won't get much money even if you hack them.

It was online article you read? If yes, then please share it with us. I would like to read about it.

One more thing  to consider is fact that even if some casino were hacked in the past - and they managed to recover without taking too much damage.
They most likely won't share hacking incident publicly. It would only cause them more harm than good, because their reputation will be tarnished.
So this is actually one more fact I found interesting and it explains why bitcoin casinos are rarely hacked.

What has come into my knowledge is about exploitation and ddos attacks or phishing attempts issue with gambling sites. It is possible as some friends raised point that may be it happened in past with some casino and they didn't leak the news to cover their reputation. I didn't hear not that some site where I was playing had hacking problem because never encounter any issue not even with withdrawals.

True, because they may keep all their money in some other safe wallets, not in the hot wallet. If you hack their hot wallet, you may get very less money and that much money loss will not impact to any big casino houses. If you want to hack those big casino then one should first know where they park all those money and that is not so easy to any hackers.

In general, the site should never keep more than 5% of the total balance in the hot wallet. However there is a lot of maintaince because every few hours that wallet might want to get refilled.

Maybe those site really doesn't bother to invest on high security features since they doesn't aware for those hacking issue will provably hit on their site, but nowadays i don't really see some of gambling site's crying for their lose from hacking maybe they learned some lesson from the past experience of those sites happened to be hack so they do proper checking nowadays so they can cover up those possible loophole for hackers to access their site.

Gambling sites have good strategy to keep some limited amount available for immediate withdrawals and rest keep safe away. What I have seen hackers go for thousand of Bitcoins. I heard always in hundred of thousand and millions have been stolen by hackers. Gambling sites are good because they are working in low profile.I don't think some gambling sites has faced some major issue in this regard so far.

I think in exchanging site or any about is it has a high profile security that the ordinary cant penetrate on it . the choose gambling because they saw a loophole in their system so that it can be hack if the exchange has a low security that that would be a big profits to the hackers.

Recently I heard about rollin which had been exploited and that is very common issue for gambling sites, we had so many examples like that but I never heard any gambling site got hacked as per my personal knowledge, because gambling site providing more better security and that is the reason they are running successful business.

I haven't heard for sure or the authenticity of rollin. But I am sure if indeed any gambling sites don't provide good security then it would be a golden opportunity for hackers doing the action, because most hackers do the action security gaps of each site.

I haven't heard yet of hacking of gambling sites and to be stolen a lot of user funds there. Well almost all major casinos keep very few of their total funds in their hot wallet to pay users and more than 85% of funds is kept securely in cold storage. I think this is the reason why gambling sites hacked are almost non existent while in exchanges if people keep a lot of money for trading and exchanging then hacking can happen as they are keeping the majority of the funds in hot wallets for ease of use. One exception is Yobit which we all know very often their online hot wallet is empty and they need to charge it to pay users in their signature. Thats why we never heard of hacking of Yobit so far.

Yeah, it's very rare (or never) for us to heard about gambling sites got hacked since hackers looking for a big amount to hacked like in exchangers hot wallets, and gambling sites playing so safe with just put the big amount of bitcoin in cold storage.
