The best thing you can do is to visit this forum daily and check all the threads which you are involved in , you can also visit scam accusations board to know what are the most used methods to scam the others .
Also if you intended to buy/sell , or joining ICO , do not do that without escrow .

Simple tips is to avoid any offer that is too good to be true this same applies with investing in any service or programs. Mostly HYIPS/cloud mining that is offering very high return on investment are just a possible scammer which will run away at some point. If you are doing personal deal try to avoid deal without escrow, always use escrow to trade with anybody in forum.

The people that go ahead and give crazy discounts and want you to go first, even though they are newbie accounts and fuck the account up with negative trust.

But, I guess they're good for the community in some ways.

Well, the scammer will take a lot of the way, maybe like your side. if they are a newbie and having a negative trust but seem they will not care about that. like a blind people.

i assume you are talking about FUD since you posted this in trading discussion board.
so to detect FUD or even a scam in general you have to always use your brain and logic instead of using your emotions when you read their comments.
use the tools at your disposal to gather more information, for example you can always check the price and look at the charts yourself to see what is really going on.

It's pretty easy to figure out if the person is trying to scam you. Scammers try to do too-good-to-be-true offers to make the person he's talking to interested especially if the other person is a newbie. Scammers know that newbies are their potential victims. Scammers usually ask you to send some money first and then he'll send you the thing you're buying afterwards. You wouldn't get scammed if you don't send money first so you shouldn't send first or if you really want to buy something and you want to be secure, use an escrow.

Easy for ico coins, only invest ico coins with:
1. escrow
2. reliable background dev team
3. all info of devs must be shown
4. accept our interviews, hangouts, answer our questions fluently.
5. BTC core dev involved, big company CXO involved
6. don't buy in hype, especially overvalued/overcrowd ico.

there is not really a global rule for detecting scammers and avoiding them. but generally you can check their history and their posts they have made before also you can check their trust rating or any similar rating on other forums.

also as a rule of thumb what looks too good to be true is a scam.

Their are lot of ways of scamming , some are using online investment method of giving you daily 25% or double your bitcoins in 24 hrs, this type are called online investment scamming.

If you are going to trade then you have to check with their account history of trading and if they have got any red trust mark, then you have to be aware of it, and use escrow to do this type of trading to avoid getting scammed.

I think the best way is to evaluate the logic of their offers. Any kind of "guaranteed returns" is a red flag, as it is IMPOSSIBLE to guarantee a return. Really, obtaining bitcoin in any way other than paying full retail price at an exchange is very risky. Look carefully at the reports of those who were scammed and you usually see a glaringly bad decision to trust someone. Don't trust anyone!!!! Just use an exchange that gives you a way to trade without knowing the seller.

Exactly, trusting anyone unknown to you in this era is really a foolish thing because we cannot find a lot of trust around these days because every single person is thinking to just fill his own pockets but they don't think about others so better not to trust anyone and be your own manager or investments.

it is not that hard to detect who is running a scam on you. the general rule of too good to be true applies to all of them. and especially when they are having a hard time proving their legitimacy it shows that there is something shady going on with what they say.

because a legitimate business never tries to hide anything and will always provide proof super easy and fast.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

Ironically, in my experience most scammers I have met with have been bad liars. I found asking questions and trying to fully understand what the users said in the offers eventually led to rather precise conclusions. Scammers often fall in paradoxes of their own lies. In addition, all above mentioned factors count, though.

it is because they are usually dumb people who are trying to scam others.
a wise person will choose a wise method of earning money not robbing people of their money to make money himself. that is why their lies are stupid and easy to find out.

I keep the same my experience, too. However, I remember wisdom comes from much life experience and appears in the long run. I advise all people who are thinking about how they could obtain quick money to search actual opportunities and try to figure out real solutions. I can always find opportunities where people are since people always have some problems. It could happen that I cannot help them in that moment, but fortunately, there are many problems so many opportunities. I do not need to come up with a fake offer when I can easily find another opportunity where I can come up with a real solution. Remember, one successfully solved issue may open the gates of even more opportunities like the same people will dedicate you more opportunities as they put more trust in you while scamming just closes the gates because the same people will be more cautious next time and will not want to do more business with you.

Just do not trust people easily. You need to know him/her better ( you need more time for it )
My cousin also got scam when he got tricked by sexy girl who seduce him to use CC because they have nice promo.
After he transferred the money and try to contact her, she's just dissappear.

There is a lot of scammers online, unless you know the person good, don't trust other people asking you to "invest" and so on, it's better that you hold your coins in your wallet, so you could making some earning if the price increase.

Usually the scammers promise high returns of investments and high interest to encourage people to deposit in their projects. So just stay away from this form of ponzi schemes.

Indeed, sometimes you just have to play as if you're a fool when you want to spot a scammer. Sometimes the lies of a scammer isn't concrete and/or detailed enough. Some scammers can't even play the role he's playing correctly. So, if you want to figure out if the person you are trying to transact with is a scammer, try asking him questions and confusing him. Most of the time, the stories are becoming crumbled and the scammer would just give up on you and go away.
