It's a lot talking about it, every year again, but never happen?
Why?
North Korea is basically dying country, economically destroyed, not able even to feed its own people.
Only they have is army and nuclear bombs and they know it very well and used it as weapon to get what they need from the west and S. Korea.
They will never use nuclear bombs but it's perfect tool for them to blackmail and pressure international community to help them survive.
North Korea don't have future with Kim regime and their only hope for survival is reunification with S. Korea.

I don't think North Korea have capability to target USA with nuclear weapon and however stupid a leader is, I don't think they would start a nuclear war. North Korea has completely lost its point now and would not exist for long.

They'd be flattened and they know it. They also know that China wouldn't permit it.

They also know perfectly well what they're doing. Threatening South Korea and the US is their currency and also the method they use to keep their people in line. Every government does it to an extent but most have a little more subtlety.

North Korea's existence suits China nicely. China wouldn't want a capitalist free for all right at their border, though it's arguable as to who's more capitalist ultimately.

I think, the first question is whether they are really capable of attacking any of them. The United States are pretty far from North Korea with highly advanced ranged weaponry and South Korea could be ready to defend themselves and counter-attack anytime considering their not so peaceful relationship with North Korea for decades.

The United States doesn't need to interfere with NK. They can't cause much harm and probably cause more headaches for China than anything else.

North Korea doesn't want to send out nukes because they'll get absolutely destroyed the instant they try to. As previously mentioned, they can only use it as threats and that's all they will be. Those who have true power hide it, not display it.

They do not eliminate their government because of China. North Korea was part of a unified Korea until Communist China started to mix with the conflict.

They cannot do it because they are really coward.  They are just showing their nuclear bombs and their army but I think they just showing it to have some attention or have an image of a strong country.  A country that can live without the other country.  They just want that impression but they are not really that capable of having a war.  They know their limit and the capabilities of its army.  They know that US is far way better than them in terms of war.

Im sure North Korea will never be at the world map if North Korea attacks US. US is the most powerful military in the world which North Korea feared to mess with. Maybe South Korea has no match to North Korea in terms of equipment and facilities. Their alliance with the US government is enough to make North Korea vanish. But North Korea is still a threat to other country especialy its neigbor coutries coz they have the capability to destroy a country by their nuclear warheads. South Korea is complaining about this.

Because the DPRK is having a well trained military force of some 3.5 to 4.0 million individuals, and most of these guys will fight to their death, rather than surrendering to the Americans. I was shocked to see it has escalated recently with the closure of the joint manufacturing plant on the border.
It had been a joint North/South effort for manufacturing and was a blow to them financially shutting it down after all this time.

North has already said they would Nuke the USA.
Would they ?
I dunno.. i think they know they would be leveled in retaliation.

So i dunno maybe just never ending tension and them running their mouth.

North Korea is warning its citizens to prepare for possible food shortages as a new round of international sanctions begin to take effect.

According to South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper, an editorial published Monday in the North's state-run Rodong Sinmun newspapers says North Koreans "may have to go on a long and arduous march, during which we will have to chew the roots of plants once again."

The term "arduous march" was used by the authoritarian regime to describe a famine that killed millions of people in the 1990s.

Chosun Ilbo says it has learned the regime has collected one kilogram of grain from every citizen in the capital of Pyongyang every month, while farmers are being forced to hand over extra food donations to the military.

North Korea needs 440,000 tons of food from overseas donations this year, but has received just 17,600 tons by February.

The United Nations recently imposed a new, tougher set of economic sanctions on North Korea over a nuclear test conducted in early January, followed by a long-range rocket launch in February.

North Korea is struggling to maintain minimum daily rations for its population through its public distribution system.

The state currently distributes 360 grams daily per person, Voice of America reported Thursday.

Pyongyang's official rations were reduced to 370 grams daily per person in April, which is significantly below the U.N.-recommended amount of 600 grams daily per person, and also lower than North Korea's goal of 573 grams daily per person.

The reduced rations began to be implemented in April and have continued to June, according to the Food and Agricultural Organization. That amount is also 12 percent below 2015 ration levels.
