Ya but in the end its a fail as all the seals will ultimately come back, every time.
yeah, for sure, I agree with this. Though, the reasoning may have been to create enough downtime to get players to explore other options. I don't know, but it is possible. It's a theory. But in the end it all comes back to seals, i didn't even google another bitcoin poker site |

yeah, I hear ya. But, if Seals had been down for more time, say 2 weeks, I'm sure they would have lost some players. |

well, I don't knw about that. There are other bitcoin games and casinos that are more popular than Seals. But, I don't think something like this makes sense from a direct competitor. It makes more sense that a new site, that CAN'T compete would do something like this. I may be way out in conspiracy land with this, but to me, on something like this, you look for motivation. Who has the most to gain by Seals being down? A new bitcoin poker room? A new bitcoin gambling site? Maybe that was their launch strategy...  |

So, are you thinking that the DDoS of DT and the attacks against various pools (illpoet and I use different ones) are mere coincidences?
I don't. And that's why I put up my other two theories.
I saw what was said about how the gov't would just shut it down. Sure - but with what cause? A "black op", if you will, would be smarter in this case. Sure, you could get the public to "boo" a site that infringes on copyrights (like megaupload), but can you get everyone against a decentralized currency that could potentially make the Federal Reserve obsolete? I don't think so.
Speaking of the Federal Reserve becoming obsolete, that's where the banks come in to my thoughts. For, without the FR, what is Citi gonna do?
Also, no one has claimed responsibility.
And, I sincerely apologize for my misquote on ransom amount and from where. My bad. Memory's failing in the old age, I reckon.

I don't think so. I don't know about that. MegaUpload had a lot of support, and they didn't have a cause to do it, either. In fact, we learned later, they were not acting under the letter of the law. Really, if the govt wanted to shut down a bitcoin/litecoin site, they just say it was laundering money for criminals. Cheap and Easy. I just don't see the govt taking mining pools are a serious threat. Maybe they do, and I'm wrong, but it seems far fetched. |

It is ONE of the 50 or so skins on the iPoker network. It is a relatively small poker room. They just recently started using btc. It would not be them. There is also a Russian skin on the Revolution network that uses btc. Again there is no direct competition as the markets are different but then again they are Russian. |
