If you have an account there check you balance now--do the refund you?

every company so-posed to have a backup of funds saved in the bank so to refund to customers if anything goes wrong (ESPECIALLY A FINANCIAL COMPANY)

IF THE BIZ WAS REGISTERED IN USA THE WILL NOT GO FREE

I didnt check yet, but since last day I'm reading that they will be back online. Thats a welcome move and we really appreciate their effort even to refund. I think theres a percentage that they will return? not full as what Ive read on some articles. Anyone can confirm?

Thanks. I heard that they were going to fix the problem, but I didn't think that they would refund all the money for free. I appreciate their effort, but I don't like the fact that they are an illegal exchange. Maybe, this was a warning for all users to stop using BitFinex.

It's impossible, I sure they're never having a backup, they're an illegal exchange. but learned from the previous cases it's like a miracle for the exchange site to refund their member's losing funds. they will forget about that. I sure and starting to running like previously.

What are you saying here? On the one hand you say that you cannot wait to start trading there again and then you say that you lost coins on Bitfinex and you are not going to trade there again? If I lost coins there, they will never see me again and if I did not lose any coins and they took some of my coins to pay for someone else, I will be pissed off like a crazy person. ^hmmmm^

Wait for bugs to be cleared ? They were hacked after calling themselves to be the most secured and having multisig and you still want us all to trust their security ? Its ironic for them to be claiming to be the most secure exchange.

If by most secured they mean being hacked for multi-million dollars, I wonder who would still trust them with their precious bitcoins. It's like a slap on the face of clients knowing that their bitcoins can't be wholly refunded to them. Better for them to change their name or line of business altogether.

What's the new token's name? Is it called BFX Omni?

There's a reddit thread discussing it and one person calls the tokens that but I can't find any official Bitfinex information about them. They could have thought up a better name than that.

they either don't know what the word "security" means.
or the rest of the exchanges out there are so shit that bitfinex is the most secure among them.

i bet it is the first one though! Cheesy

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I heard that the Gemini exchange based in New York is FDIC insured for your funds, does it apply to bitcoin as well?

Interesting how no one mentioned what kind of vulnerability or exploit was used to "hack" the website. If they released that information, it'd bring the credibility of their story up, even if it is just by 5%.

IF the site WAS "hacked", let's assume that the password was brute forced. A simple google search led me to the email Query value: admin@bitfinex.com (email). Seeing as blog.bitfinex.com runs WordPress, I ran a few tests.

Firstly, user enumeration is possible. I tested it with two, but:
ID   User   Login
1   admin    admin

If one was to brute force, they'd add admin into the &username= part of their brute force query.

---

HAHAHA I FOUND A VULNERABILITY IN THE WEBSITE. IT'S AN SQLI VULNERABILITY.

where can I find the log of all my previous transaction?
I have a few litecoin and some cash there in the account. It's now missing, I cannot see them yet.
And I also have 1/3 of my BTC gone. replaced by BFX. of equal dollar amount.

OK fine,. the site is hacked.
The coin must have been transfer to another addresses.
Does any one know which is bitfinex bit addresses, and to which addresses the coin get transferred.
120,000 coins, I ;m sure we can track the addresses in blockchain and find the culprit.
