Is it allowed to sell Bitcointalk account?

In my opinion, it should not only be passively disallowed but actively disallowed and should be expressly stated and the reason for my position is this, if I can build my rank to HERO level then sell to someone else who is likely a scammer then he can scam innocent people or newbies in the system thereby bringing insanity and lack of trust into the forum this alone is enough reason to disallow it in totality...

You cant stop the decision of the people would intend to sell their account, it may have disadvantages  because some would use it to scam people, pretending to be a high rank  forum member because all of us here would definitely have  trust on those  seniors to us. Even the forum itself would hardly stop these things i guess.

So that's mean we're not able to sell our own account if the time we will need money immediately? Just a question what is the good way to sell our account ? I agree that's many people buying high account to scam other people in this forum and I see that's a big problem happening here.that's why we need to know how we can sell account when needed and without putting negative trust in other account.

It is sort of a grey area, only allowed to continue because it would be too hard to police and stop.

If it could be stopped then i would like the sale of accounts to stop. Especially as more accounts are becoming hero and legendary with green trust everyday these accounts can be handy to a scammer.

At the end of the day you should always be using escrow for deals unless you know or really do trust the person.

I agree with that, but maybe it's will become difficult. we know if making rules if selling an account is disallowed in this forum maybe will appearing an illegal selling and buying an account in the outside of this place. But in this time we know there are a police in this forums to the finding of the bought account is doing a suspicious act, but it's less than effective.

I also don't like this account selling, accounts should cost much more and that can stop manipulation with them. I also agree to disallow buying or selling accounts, but that is not possible. They will make deals on other place and we will never know, like this we can keep some track which accounts are on sale and which accounts are sold.

Yeah,it's allowed,as long as I'm concerned there are no restrictions to it but you have to make the trade on your terms and eventually find an escrow etc. so yeah it's possible to buy an account just be careful

Tracking those accounts would be useless since  the forum itself have many users who are registered even if it has a  moderator and staff they cant handle them easily. As you said they would make deals  on other place that we wont even know. Regarding to those potential  senior member accounts they are really newbie in rank but they have the potential activity to  reach senior account easily because of those  potential activity count.

I think there is no rules on this forum about sell or buy bitcointalk account. About giving red trust, you also need smart when you buy or sell an account.

I agree that selling accounts can facilitate the crime, deception and scam, specially selling an account with positive trust, some people may say that in real world we may see selling brands.. so it is like here but in virtual world there are more potential to scam. However I do not know why forum decision makers do not ban selling account and another thing is that I doubt if providing negative trust to selling account is right since it conflicts with forum rules.

Yep that bad thing happening here that's why other member give neg trust into other member who want to sell there account. Because a chance that people will buy it use for scamming people here in this forum mostly newbie will get victim.. I think we need some strictly rules about selling account.

I think we must consider first also that many members here buy account for sognature and not only for scamming.  We are just blind on that because many new bought account is in scamming. No one will get scam if they use proper escrow in dealing somebody else.. i think giving neg trust for the seller of their account is injustice here. They have the right to sell it because that is his/her properties and not ours or to DT who aleays give neg. trust on them. I think hack account is reasonable for neg trust but if its from real owner or from collateral,in not agree to them

I see few users selling an account so it is allowed. i think those who buy wants to have a high rank account to enroll in signature campaign to earn money. i dont see any wrong about it if thats the reason but we should be careful because they can use that account to scam other users.

I have always been amazed that such a process takes place here.  I guess I can understand both sides of this controversy.  When I sold my business the buyer gained the complete reputation that I had earned over a long period of time.  In fact that is a large part of why the buyer wanted it.  Reputation can mean everything to a potential customer.  No different here, except that we operate in a world of anonymity sometimes.

Selling accounts is allowed on the forum, but some members do not endorse selling accounts so they give red trust feedbacks to accounts that are for sale to decrease their worth. Do not post the username of the account you are selling or a link to it because someone will give you a negative trust.

Yeah, Thats true and still done by some of the members here. If you tried to sell your account on public, there is a probability that they will red trust you not because of your attitude but because you are selling it. Try to sell it on private.

Definitely no, even if he wants to buy your account  and you dont have intention to sell it then  nothing  he could do. The most important things or information is just your username or password  if  he dont know that information then its impossible to make you harm.
