Its just commonsense you really cant play gambling if you dont have money since its the primary need when you do gamble. Gambling has big risk indeed since you are risking your money to earn money and the house edge is always win for sure.
And because that is the common thing when facing the house edge of a gambling game, people needs to learn other type of gambling that will make the risk really worth to try. Strategy based games are the best example for it as to be able win here, people doesn't need pure luck.

I consider altcoin investing a sort of gambling investment since it seems to be so damn random. Sure, you can invest with better odds than going into the casino, but its still a risky investment, so it would qualify the definition of risky investment.
Well, the problem with many alt coins is that many are not made with the intention to be a competitor to bitcoin, after all the only way any of this new coins will have a chance is if they did everything that bitcoin did and then more, but a lot of this coins are just copycats so is very obvious that the developers of this copycat coins are just trying to cash on the fame of bitcoin. Yes, rather investing into altcoins, it would be better to use your bitcoins for the purpose of gambling, at least you can have some entertainment for the money you are spending unlike facing losses with alt-coin investments when they get dumped. Still I'm not encouraging going for gambling, but at least with a gambling we can have the purpose fulfilled what we are planning.

There is some money to be made out of altcoins no doubt about that but I really doubt that there are that many people that have the money and knowledge to take advantage of that, on the other hand some people always recommend to invest the money and they forget that money is also meant to be spent, not all of it, but some.

I know it isn't an investment, but in the last few years some "high risk" investment funds have appeared, and in them you can either lose it all or earn a lot of money. Isn't this basically the same as gambling? Wouldn't it be faster to just deposit the amount in a casino? At least you'd be able to spend your earnings much sooner ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Yes investment and gambling are considered highly risky because now a days many investment site that no one can be a long term they are all scam. Also in gambling you do not know if gonna win or lose because gambling is we need a luck for our winning. But if you have no luck for sure your money gonna lost in few hours.

Well, if you ask me, so it really can be considered a very high risk investment. it is because of gambling, is a very fast way to generate a lot of money, but these advantages have negative impacts which would you face in the future, because not everyone can make money very quickly from gambling. You also need a great fortune to be able to make a lot of money, so therefore that's why gambling can be regarded as an investment with a very high risk

Not everyone because most of the gamblers does not take the opportunity to invest, they rather play against the house try to win money but the real opportunity to win in gambling is when you begin to invest, and by investing in gambling site you are likely to earn money because the house always wins.

Investment without any knowledge is considered as high risk cause you dont even know how the money will work for you and all you depend on is just luck. Even when the site is obviously a scam, many people still believe it and pour in more money. One great example is hashocean.

And it's like a suicide if a person will deal to an investment without having further knowledge on what they are entering. Just because they saw others getting profits from that kind of investment they will do the same in an instant without any precaution. Good examples are, investing in ponzi (like you said), listening to altcoin hypes, doing strategy in those house edge type of gambling games and many more.

Investing without doing your due diligence is the fastest way to bankruptcy, you must take care of your money as much as you can because no else cares about your money the way you do, so if you don’t do due diligence you are basically handing you money to a stranger and hoping to get more in return. Just a question, does anyone on the forum give hundreds of dollars (or even thousands) to strangers on the street? I know I don’t, so why you will give money to a stranger online?

Agree with you, many people believe that luck is enough in gambling but I will say that with luck alone they cannot say that which site is legit and which site is scam, they will earn a bigger amount of money with their luck on any scam gambling sie but there is a chance that the owner run away from there.

Unless you feel like you have the edge over the house or you are the house (bookie) it should just be considered entertainment. If you go into gambling realizing its just for fun win or lose then you lose much less. It's the people expecting to get rich because they won a couple times at the local indian casino that go poor quickly.

It is right that gambling is not made for high risk investment but now it become for us high risk way. And so far as investment so it is for us how we use the gambling as investment or like a game. But believe me sometime it feel gambling is an other way of earning or investment for us.

Yes I think it can be considered as that due to the fact you are putting money in it and its based on luck that is a risk, you are investing on yourself and you need luck to win so yes. I think that that gambling can be considered as a investment because you can by the way also win money with it.

but the nature of the risk is more important that the amount of the risk when you want to decide if it is an investment or not. and since the nature of gambling risk is unpredictability and not knowing the future at all, it means it is not an investment unless you are playing some other types of games which you can predict.

Correct, gambling should be taken as any other hobby as a way to entertain yourself and can only be an investment if you are invested in the casino bankroll, you are the casino, or you are playing a game of skill in which you can turn the odds in your favor.
