For me, it has a lot of uses. I pay my mobile plan with it, order food online and get some extra pocket money thanks to the sig campaign. |

Besides using it as a currency it seems like its impossible to make money off of bitcoins unless you already have some serious cash , mining bitcoins is long done nd over with nd its seems like trading/exchange doesnt give you much of a profit , so im just wonding as someone just now arriving to this dead party whats there to do with bitcoin ?
There is still bitcoin gambling,if you have skills at poker or other games. You can sell digital goods and services or join a sig camp. There are some opportunities.I wouldn`t call this a "dead party". |

I have invested my bitcoins in different alt coins at a moment and I am earning really good profits from it and its always better to trade instead of simply holding it.
Trading is indeed a great option to increase the amount of coins that you have, but it's not always that easy to do. I am more a hodler type of person as my handle also suggests, but so far holding has brought me more than decent profit in the recent time. The pump to +$770 is a good example that holding does indeed pay off when you buy your coins at lower prices.But to book profits, you would have had to sell your coins (at least, some part of). If you didn't do just that when the price was at +$770, your reference to this figure is irrelevant since right now the price is at $570. On the other hand, you never know where the true top is... While the true bottom is, as always, at ground zero I did actually sell around that price level. If I didn't sell then would I have felt like an idiot as that was the best chance to secure profits at. Good thing is that I bought them back at the time the price was being dumped down at the time Bitfinex was hacked Good for you! It is next to impossible to pinpoint an exact time when to jump on the Bitcoin bandwagon as well as when to jump off it without breaking your neck in the process... And not get run over thereafter |

The best you can do for bitcoin is to spend them for the things that you want and still be able to earn more coins and do it all over. There aren't really much you can do with bitcoins right now considering the limited number of shops that accept bitcoins available out there but we all need to wait and there will be a lot of shops to accept bitcoins soon. |

Personally, I am just hodling and buying in spots. While I bide my time hodling, I play bitcoin poker to try to accumulate a bit more along the way. That's pretty much it.

There aren't really much you can do with bitcoins right now considering the limited number of shops that accept bitcoins available out there but we all need to wait and there will be a lot of shops to accept bitcoins soon. Well ui think better to choose to spend it for useful stuff that you know that you can increase the amount of your bitcoin like invest it in skills to use in your future.. if you just holding it and make a profit for price increase. i think bitcoin will not stay high in the fuutre.. |

Im not looking to replace a job just some money on the side , I was hoping I could with the altcoin exchanges but it doesnt seem like I could make much
You need to increase in ranks and join a signature campaign when you become Full Member like the one I am in it can make you about 0.10 btc a month if you fulfill all of the requirements. Or you can opt for any other signature campaigns in here. They pay well most of them for side money. You need at least 4 months before arriving to that rank. Prepare yourself by learning and reading through different topics of this forum so you do not spam and have a good quality post. This way almost every signature will be happy to have you on board. |

OP is talking about spending, that means to just spend them on you or something and after that they wont be with you again. |

You can always gamble with your coins, there is so many interesting games. In the same time you are investing your money, spending and there is always a chance to finish playing with more money in pocket then at the beginning.
I think OP didn't said nothing new, in order to spend and make money you need a lot of money for start. Its same with every currency and bitcoin can not be different about it. At least with bitcoin potential just with keeping one day we can be rich, with other currencies we can't count on that.
