OK, I am new to bitcoin so please bear with me. Earlier today I tried to do a BitInstant payment of $500 to my deposit address on btc-e.com. I filled out the form, printed the sheet, got the money, went to CVS and went through the process. Shortly after, I can see the BTC that I am supposed to receive per the image below. http://i47.tinypic.com/v7ua0.pngIt's been stuck at this status almost 3 hours. What is the deal with these confirmations? Are they supposed to happen instantly? When will I have access to my BTC? Thanks in advance.

I read somewhere that there are a lot of transactions in the queue currently...

OK, so it will become available eventually?
I looked up the receiving address on blockchain.info and it shows the transaction but has a red button that says "Unconfirmed Transaction!" Just concerns me since it was suppose to be all set within an hour (and I paid a big premium for it...).

Don't worry, a transaction of mine only just got 6 confirmations and it was sent at 17:35 GMT The network is a bit busy today - it will confirm eventually!

maybe this is related to the block sporking. (i made up the name) orphaning blocks using old the 'block version' new to bitcoin history: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=156942.msg1688304#msg1688304I'm also pissed and worried
3 seperate transactions from seperate wallets to seperate places all unconfirmed, some sent hours ago

I too have been waiting quite some time just to get a single confirmation.
What is strange in my case is that when i look up my address at blockchain.info i can see my unconfirmed transaction which lists 1 transaction. But checking the same address at blockexplorer.com shows 0 transactions.

Mine stuck too 0 conf 7+ hours now, the odd thing is that there are a lot of small blocks <100 even <50 kb why they are not filled to 250 with theese transactions. I don't get it if there is room why not use it ?!

increased traffic could be people moving out of gox to other exchanges

that's BTC-E's problem. contact them to resolve it. Mine stuck too 0 conf 7+ hours now, the odd thing is that there are a lot of small blocks <100 even <50 kb why they are not filled to 250 with theese transactions. I don't get it if there is room why not use it ?!
as the block becomes more filled up, the default bitcoin implementation behavior is to make it more and more expensive to include a transaction. this it to prevent spammers from filling up the blockchain and forcing everyone to potentially store the data forever.
