I don't approve that this is still in Newbies.

Something like this can be very confusing for people that heard of Bitcoin for the first time and are already confused by the whole concept of cryptocurrencys.

Please move this thread to Alternate Cryptocurrencys.

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

It is a historic post that should be made a sticky IMHO.  Smiley

started solo mining with my cpu. Is anyone able to tell me what 10(7) means in the below screenshot?

http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/4180/miningx.png

"10" is the shares that got accepted alltogether and "(7)" are the shares that got accepted particularly in the last hour.

In 1 or 2 years maybe it's possible that you will regret your choice, when one BTE is worth 4 $

TerraCoin already exists as r470r pointed out, but the SI prefix is spelled with one "r" (as in TeraCoin). Terra is Latin for "Earth" or "land".

So thinking about some of the earlier statements, along lines of 'CPU mining again..' Etc..so how would you prevent the GPU/FPGU & ASICs from jumping in and ramping the difficulty up quickly ? Trolling aside / April fools aside wouldn't this be a stumbling block ( excuse the pun ) ?

Indeed. What solution would you propose if you was in my situation?

Maria 2.0

I have considered this question for some time.  I have a conceptual solution that should be statistically sound, in the general spirit of bitcoin, and makes fairly minimal changes.  Please feel free to message me if you wish to correspond.

I try to be respectful and informed.

Ah, the real Bytecoin. The one that actually launched in 2013 and didn't create a fake genesis block and forged blockchain.

Haven't seen this in a while.
