You cannot mine bitcoins with a computer by itself no matter how powerful the computer is. All bitcoins are mined today with dedicated ASIC hardware and unless you buy some you cannot meaningfully mine bitcoin in any capacity.

This is a bit harsh. 90% of all threads can be closed if you tell people to google first. Sure, it works most of the time, but sometimes it also feels better to hear it from more than 1 source, and then a forum like this is a good place. You are right though, CPU and even GPU mining are completely irrelevant in the bitcoin scene now. There are however some altcoins than may still be minable this way due to their algorithms that only support CPU or GPU and no ASIC (yet).

This. Also, I am not sure where you have rented your server, but it's a wise thing to first read their TOS before you actually start with mining. A lot companies don't allow their server CPU's to be in constant heavy use like what happens when you put them to work when you are mining. All that is done to prevent people using their servers for mining purposes.

You shouldn't mine Bitcoin, as your CPU's will be mostly useless, no matter how powerful they are - you'll just lose more in electricity bills. As NorrisK has pointed out above, you should instead mine new, emerging altcoins - a lot of them are ASIC-resistant at first, so you'll have a fair chance to profit with your rig.

Best specced computer would be still useless and its impossible for you to mine bitcoin even how high specc it is because its need asic miners in able to mine bitcoin which is somewhat expensive and mining as of days are not profitable already unless if you have cheap electricity.

If this high configuration computer is in your college or office and you to play with free electricity charges, you may mine few altcoins which are still viable with CPU mining. Profits are possible but the time frame is not definite. Please check Mining > Hardware section if you are serious about bitcoin mining.

If you have free, or almost free electricity you can still mine some altcoins with that server, but the profits will be marginal.

Forget about Bitcoin, the difficulty is much too high to gain any income from mining, and if you are lucky, you might mine some Alt coins. If this is only to experiment you can try it out, but if you bought this computer to mine, you are going to regret it. There is zero profits to be made from CPU/GPU mining these days. Sorry. ^hmmmm^

Knowing what to trade is the only way forward when difficulty is too high, although having a lot of altcoins come out rapidly is great for the crypto ecosystem to thrive

Definitely use that power for mining altcoins. They may be worthless in value now, but who knows what happens tomorrow. Also if these servers are somewhere in your work, or school and it means you will have free electricity give it a try. Go to the Hardware-Mining section for more specific help on the issue.

Hi @shahzadex, it depends a lot, of what kind of 24 XEON (v)Cores you have. It depends also a lot on which OS your server is running. I personally actually prefer LXC-Containers running Ubuntu on top a rockstable RHEL7. (I have got the whole range of Xeons - w/o AVX(2) do not think about it any longer) yours PanneKopp
