I don't think online gambling is illegal in the Philippines. Where did you get that btw? There was a case in 2012 but it was thrown out because there wasn't any law against placing a bet online. And sure, Duterte did say he was thinking of making online gambling illegal but that hasn't been finalized and made into a law yet. PAGCOR gives out licenses for online gambling sites, under the condition that Filipinos are not allowed to play/place bets on those sites. There's nothing stopping Filipinos to place bets on gambling sites hosted and licensed in other countries though. As for your question on why make gambling online illegal, I think it's to protect the citizens, money and taxes for the government, and a way to minimize gambling addiction as a whole.

I feel like you are mainly talking about FIAT online gambling here and services registered under standard casino license.
But we have to remember that bitcoin powered gambling is a whole different story.
In some countries even if FIAT online casinos are legally banned or heavily frowned upon bitcoin services are treated differently because bitcoin is still not legally confirmed as currency.

I guess those people who are not very fond of the technology will always go with real gambling. Don't get me wrong but real gambling means real experience. You feel the intensity of your game if you can see your opponents personally. You can see their reaction, their mannerisms, etc.

Nope. They ban it because casino will cause a lot of social issues. And that is why a lot of the country when they approve the casino, they have a lot of layers of protection to try to reduce the social problems to the minimal. What makes you think that genting is held on the highland and not at easily accessible area.

Current PH administration banned only those physical casinos or companies offering online gambling that didn't have a proper licensed under PAGCOR. If ever those online gambling owners properly fixed all the things they need to operate freely in the country then they will not be sued by the law.

It is different for those individual who are using online websites to gamble. As long as the owner of that gambling site is operating outside the country then people here can freely use that site since it's out the context of the present law.

About this point we can argue endless. there are people who prefere one and the same number of people who prefer the other. I prefer online gambling. yeah, especially these days that everything is becoming remote and from afar. i also prefer sitting behind my computer all day and do everything there is in life behind my desk and on the computer.

when an underage kid or a kid wants to get in where he doesn't belong he will do that regardless of the restrictions.
