Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

Yes, there was a DDoS attack.

It happens quite often. An user from 2013 should know it.
Like atleast once every 2-3 months. Could be a lot of reasons behind it but imho it is just a pissed scammer.
Maybe you might want to move this thread to the meta sub though.

It has a political twist to it. Also, it's "A user" not "an user".

Yeah a user is correct. I will just blame it on the auto correction function of this broken android version :3
(I know that you only use an when it is followed by a vocal)

It was just an idea to move it because it is more of a forum problem.
But in view of your poll i guess it is fine here too.

Clintons globalist gang from China are angry. We don't bow and lick the soil before the majestic couple of China... Anyway soon (1st October) it's over... Step by step. Look at the most controversial website you know and wait for their elimination. Bitcointalk is high on the list... Imagine a place where people can exchange opinion and have free discussion on what ever subject they want... This is criminal, negative and against the philosophy of the International community where technocrats (speech and opinion manager, spinners and narrative builders) must rule the show, they do it for our own good and the one of the children... See you soon on p2p fully encrypted open source software guys...

Edit: they are angry kids. Never grew up in a free speech society. Impose their will by coercion, lies and deceit.

I vote for "Angry Kid." Most likely someone just showing off or testing out the power on their newly bought booter from Hackforums. No government would ever bother attacking a website as small as Bitcointalk (well unless something was to happen between them and theymos.) Since it was a few hours long, I wouldn't say it was some random person though since the amount of resources or the price required for a three hour running attack wouldn't be too cheap. Maybe someone with a vendetta against Bitcoin?

I remember that I wanted to check the forum when it was happening and first I thought that it was my connection that had problems because I was testing a networking related project in that time. I am glad for that my project was just fine and the forum came back so quickly.

Why the forum not simply hide behind cloudflare or some other anti ddos service?

That would avoid any ddos and hide the real ip of the forum right?

Theymos has confirmed that he will not be implemented Cloudfare, citing security issues.
