Bitcoin price! really dude?

We'll hit 1K by end of this year, 2016.

One caveat: my predictions have ALL been wrong, so far.

I think there's still a reasonable chance for the price to reach ~$5000 by Q4 2016.

I think you are ready for the ignore button, $5k in the next 3 months is beyond stupid. However, I expect a new all time high before the years end.

$5000 to happen this year is indeed beyond insane, but a new ATH this year isn't that realistic either... It would mean that the price needs to go up like 100% while I don't even believe the price will come close to $1000 this year.

Earlier this year, we were expecting price to reach @1000 or more. but it did not happen. So now in just 2 months how can bitcoin price can reach to $5000. I think if it reaches $800, it will be good.

There is really no limit on where the price will go. It could take 20 years, but I don't think $5000 per bitcoin is impossible. In fact, we've already seen the price go over $1000 a couple of years ago.

yeah but that was fake, was made artificially high with a scam system and a bot, from chinese, i don't think it's that easy to reach 5k, which is x5 higher than the last ath

The way the price reached the all time high back then so easily, has made a lot people think it's possible to happen once again.

They don't know how much money and effort is needed to get the price to reach $1000 again.

It's much better to focus on the price to increase per $100 at a time instead of directly speaking of a new all time high.

yes, we need more dollars for the price to increase the more bitcoin there are, and the higher the price is, the harder it becomes for it to go even higher.

But what you are forgetting is that userbases tend to grow exponentially, as shown in the post I linked.

Look at the adoption of ANYTHING and you will see exponential adoption.

And that effect only gets magnified by Metcalfe's Law https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metcalfe%27s_law

Because of these two things, you'd expect the price to rise as an exponential function of an exponential function, which is exactly how the price has risen in the past, each and every time.

And it will continue to do so until we have reached the ceiling of user adoption, and as far as 'm concerned, we're not even close to the ceiling. As I expect bitcoin to be used by at least about a billion users. So we have a long way to go still, and it won't take decades to reach it.

the price of the bitcoin for now is 609 dollar and i think that he only will rise allot after the halving and that is not strange because the halving only affects the miners and not the peopel who are sellign coins.

I want the price of the Bitcoin to reach $1000 soon because I am looking forward to sell some of mine Bitcoin for that price. I hope that the Bitcoin can still rise in 2016.
If not then we have to wait for 2017 to come by and see what then is going to happen.

I really thought that it was possible for the bitcoin to rise to $1000 this year but it has not happened and we do not have much time left in 2016.
I do not think that it will happen with in 2016 but it will happen in 2017.

as you say, I agree $1k in 2017/2018 because I think $1k is a realistic price and the price ever touch $1k, so it is likely touch back to $1k and it's possible. while $3k or higher it appears unrealistic and difficult to achieve.

Me too i think  next year or in the next will hit 1k per bitcoin but now the price is playing at 600$-650$ its too stable. So i think before the end of the year bitcoin goes up. But the 3k price its hard to hit that maybe in the next 5years before bitcoin hit that price. So we will wait that time to hit bitcoin price til 1k. Hope it will happen next year for we to get profit.

Lol this is speculation thread, what would you expect?  No need to argue here because all speculation is wrong until proven or vice versa.  Anyway I agree that there is a mass adoption of bitcoin so seeing 100 USD is far from happening.  But seeing Bitcoin at 1k USD is far from happening too.  Though both would possibly happen, but it depends on what will happen next.

1k value is more possible to happen than the 3k value .. maybe in the future but it takes a long time before we can experience that bitcoin will hit 3k value.. for now we are waiting for the price to hit even 700 value before end of the this year and 2017 is a new price goal like 1k value..

People have right to wish and believe, I wouldn`t say that bitcoin can`t reach 3 000 $ price. For me that is possible to happen one day. I know what is realistic point of view, but I like optimistic people. Also if we come to 1 k, then next logical step is 1.5 k, then 2. Price will rise until bitcoin find it places in global economy, for now its too early to say anything except that bitcoin is on a good way with a lot of potential to do great things.
I hope we can make to 1 k before new years evening, and then next year will be very interesting for many people who are into bitcoin and for people who still thinking about it, 1 000 $ will be very tempting for many people.

I can almost guarantee that it will reach 1000$ in 2017 but the problem is that people are too nervous and once they see even a 1$ decrease they get worried and dump coins, so the price decreases even more. Please guys have faith in bitcoins and don't sell the soon, think about the people who bought for 0.01 $ per btc and they must be upset if they sold at 1$ per btc.

I wonder how can you guarantee bitcoin reaching 1000 USD.  I bet  you are super rich or holds almost 1/3 of existing bitcoin.  Anyway speculation are also accompanied by worries too because as an investor and have an speculation of bitcoin going to 1k USD in the next months and he buy in at 640 USD, we can't deny the fact that there is also a possibility of bitcoin going down to 400 USD.  And he already lost some of his investment if that happen.

we only can make predict about the price of bitcoin, but the rest is depend on the market, will it be up or get down. if we take a look in last year, the price is suddenly drop into bottom and its on that price for a long time until almost of middle of this year. so, i think better we take our profit first before its go down and we only regret it.

4k is way too far from the current price now and I think it is not possible for this and next year (if nothing huge happens), but I think that 1k target is not far (+38% of the price) even though it is a bit far it is not as far as 4k.

Yes, expecting 5000$ is a bit too optimistic though it might reach that price in coming years for sure.
But, yes even 800$ is less, when we know the year's end is there so people would be buying a lot of bitcoins and hence the price is expected to go up and up only, maybe it could test around $1000 price levels too.

Yes, no as you can see the price is getting higher and higher, I hope the price soon touches 700$ and hence making people more happy and gaining more trust, because there are still some greedy people who think the price of bitcoins will go below 500$ and waiting for that time to buy. That may happen only in their dreams.
