Anyone see a dive with their hashrates over the past 2 days? My HD 7950 was hashing 16MH/s and now doing only 6-8MH/s? Not sure if this is a card problem or a Ethereum issue.

I am still on Crimson 16.9.2 drivers.

All my rigs are and have been running fine, must be a local problem.

For my 3x RX 480's, it has been the same hash-rate for the last 1 month. Haven't changed anything in the last 2 days.

That is similar to the AMD R9 390. The hash rate for that card has been stable for month after the DAG rise.

Today

480 or 470 8gb (BIOS tweak need):
dual ETC + SIA - $1.80 (30 eth + 300 sc)

ouch,  from $2.80 to $1.80 in few weeks  Huh

It will get worse. Much, much worse.  Sad

I think we are kind of all hoping that Zcash will help bring some profit back into the crypto mining field, if only temporarily.

Yes a lot worst ...... I've never seen it this bad in 3 years of mining. Right now I'm mining at the cost of electricity = 0 profits. I'm going to turn my rigs off soon.
None of the newbies are investing .. so it likes like mining is done.

I have free electricity at home so I can at least mine with my GTX 1070 without my landlord raising his eyebrows about the cost. But nowadays I mostly do the same with coins as I do with stocks: research, find the good ones and invest in the ICOs that seem interesting. Honestly, it seems to me that POS and other non mining algos (like XEM's POI) are secure enough? Why do we need mining?

I think its still pretty profitable. Besides the Litecoin boom at the end of 2013, there really wasn't anything profitable at all since ETH started.

Profits might not be the same as they were in March 2016, but its still more profitable than mining from April 2014-Feb 2016.

I mined that coin. Not really that profitable. I think profitability is equal to what ETH is right now.

Winning the Jackpot helped however.

Alright out of pure boredom I found the old Jackpot coin thread and the profitability was basically

Quote
The payouts are about

1500JPC/Mhash/Day

At the current price of 30 satoshis, I am mining X11 and just buying JPC.

Surprisingly the price for BTC was exactly where it is today at $600

R9 290 = 5MH/s = $1.35 USD day

R9 280 = 4MH/s = $1.08 USD day

Today the R9 290 makes $1.50 vs. $1.35.

So profitability is still higher NOW than it was back in June 2014, and keep in mind, GPU mining got really bad into the Fall/Winter of 2014.

I remember Quark was VERY profitable for about 2 months back in 2015, then with ETH launch was profitable for about 2 months in Aug 2015. And then nothing till Feb 2016.

Not easy being a miner.........

JPC was nvidia coin, also on SAK nvidia had advantage with opensource miner.

ETH was completely different story then, it was all amd. 7970 made almost as much as 3 x 750ti back in august 2015.

Slowest days amd earning was negative and 750ti earned about 20cents/ day.

SAKCoin was profitable with some hacked private AMD kernel. I remember a 280x made like $10/day but it was short lived.
