I did not know what the 470 was capable of when buying the 480s in the first place.

Can you mine with RX 470 with stock settings or you need to play with flashing, Wattman and other things?

Which cards are the best among RX 470s? Refs, aftermarket, XFX vs Sapphire vs ASUS etc?

Does it make sense to buy 8Gb vs 4Gb?

You can mine with RX 470 on stock settings without any problem , but if you want to get more hash rate , and lower power draw , you need to play with wattman or bios mod Smiley

What's the best stable hashrate you achieved with your 470 4Gb?
I heard about 29Mhash, but i wasn't been able to achieve more than 27.4

Im not sure about the 4GB version , but with 8GB non reference card rx 470 ( i only have one ) and modded bios i was able to go over 29MH/s , but it was not stable for long run. With Bios mod and wattman tune i was able to get around 28.5 MH/s stable . Sold my RX 470 8GB and got a rx480 8GB for almost the same price.

RX 470 8GB / 240$ as of 9/29/2016

to be honest i prefer one rig setup than 3-4 way, with the latter would be a pain in the ass to move it, too heavy and cumbersome

I feel how heavy is this build now ! I said earlier i never going to move this setup ... well ... Hurricane Matthew is coming to check my ETH mining rigs Smiley ... dont want to leave this baby behind ...

Awesome looking rig you have there, thanks for sharing I love seeing New Design Concepts.

There is my 14 cards build with some info about original / modded bios power draw , hashing speed ...

I have 14 of those cards  , with 2x7 setup .
I received them with 3 different version number ( 0 , 1 , 2 ) and 3 different bioses.

Modded all bioses , card hashnig between 29.8-30.1 MH/s stable
with modded bioses , each card consume around 120-130 watts on 240 volts , 7 cards setup with mobo/cpu/sdd/8gb mem , the whole system is pulling around 900 - 970 watts on 240 volts.

Without modded bios the cards was hashnig stable with 24MH/s and consumed around 150-160 watts , the whole system is pulled around 1100 watts..Im using evga 1600 watts T2 psu ...

Great Smiley I'm glad you like it Wink with that switch is very easy to monitor your rig , remotely turn on /turn off (reboot) , you can also  set up a alarm  if the power draw going lower than average , this way if one of your card stop hashing you going to get a notification on your phone .

I've got 2 WeMo sitting on the shelf that I wont ever use again.
IMO their cheap trash.

I've found that they usually lose their settings on a power failure/power outage/turn off the power.
Which means a long annoying process of setting them up again.
What sort of power management item can't handle itself losing power?

The Wifi in them is clearly some cheap crappy hardware to improve their profits - I had terrible trouble trying to setup 2 of them in the same place to power 2 Canaan A7 miners, since that's of course necessary on normal household power.
The Wifi point is about 6 feet away, but one of the WeMo shows regularly losing connection to it during setup and in the end fails to setup - this is after a power loss event (even after resetting it)

I also found that the Apple app store didn't have their app available when I bought them - a couple of months apart - it had been removed - I've no idea why.

You had any such problems?

I had a problem once , with all if my wemo switch , when I had to reboot my modem/router , the switches lost all the settings , and I had to reset each one . It was not that hard but toke me around 2-5 min each to reprograming them. Yes if you have a power outage, you have to face this problem .
After that , Some commercial construction started in my street , so my "server" room started to lose power 2-3 times a day for a week or two .
I retired all my wemo switch, switched to 240volt (us)  and ordered a switchable, metered pdu . This way one pdu can handle 30 amps / 240 volt . Paid around 400$ for the pdu , that pdu can handle 5 S9 .

If you dont have a power outage often, i would say the weMo switch or someting simillar is the best , easiest way to control , monitor your rigs.
im still using 2 or 3 , and i never had problem with them , but i never had a power outage after the construction company finished they work , and the power company connected the new building to the gird

Just logged in to the apple app store , from my side the WeMo app is still there

I received those switches with older firmware , when i set them up with the app , i got a notification "new firmware is available" , i updated all of those switches . some wemo lost they previous settings after the firmware update .

...My Build Total Hashrate is : 480 MH/s
Total Power draw at the wall : 2439Watts / 120volts

Bro if you can go under 220V you may reduce almost to half your electricity cost.

Volts / Watts / Amps Converter:

110 Volts
2439 Watts (vA)

Electricity cost is calculated based on how much power you're using in a given period of time (typically kwh), not amps.

Bro ! You really really really need to improve your basic math skill Smiley and your Basic General Knowledge  Grin , my suggestion would be , go back to the school for a few more years , and never ever start any business , where you need to calculate electric power usage Grin

some countries do not charge by kwatt  used per month
some countries charge by amp average by month

so a change from 110 to 220 would lower your bill   since amp average drops.

I think India uses this.. but i  could be wrong

im pretty sure if some country really doing that ( some example would be great) , then you still have to pay different amount of money for 220V/amp and a 110v/amp in the same Country ,so the amount you going to pay will be the same doesn't matter what voltage are you using SmileyWink
