i got download at piratebay site and i got malware inside my pc so maybe its good to shut it down to prevent more of the people to get viruses
Your virus won't be from the Pirate Bay, it'll be from seeders. This is a risk which everyone has to take if they want to pirate anything. Most people are perfectly fine.
been downloading from them since time but never get to have viruses even when i'm using windows. just chose the ones that got reputation like eztv or ergt uploaders. don't install anything from any uploads too.
I am also downloading through torrents for the last 10 years or so. I never had any issues with trojans / spyware, even when I was not using any anti-virus software (now I am using Kaspersky).
You had no issues for that exact reason: you had no good anti-virus software, so you didn't even know what trojans you had.
A good trojan will not show itself like those crappy ones made by kids, that change your desktop or disable task manager. It will track your activity and send logs to whoever made it and replicate itself onto your mobile devices to infect other computers.
I'm not denying the possibility that you were lucky and really never caught anything. I used to download games and found some infected copies back in the day, but usually these were quickly tagged by the community and had very few seeds.
That said, torrents are great and I fully support them. Libraries existed in the ancient times and people always saw the need to share knowledge. Maybe not always, we had the Dark Ages...
