USD used many illegal activities I think because it is main currency in the world to be the benchmark currency of the countries in the world, so widely spread. USD it became many used for illegal activities like terrorism and illegal war because of its spread widely so that it can be reached by people who are not responsible. Yes, I really like what you say that currency is basically a tool and don't have an intelligence. That is true, for what that currency will be used quite dependent on the person using it. So we can not fault currency if it is used for illegal activities. Spreading USD high and become a benchmark currency worldwide makes the USD vulnerable be used for illegal activities. It's don't much different from the bitcoin that could be used for illegal and legal activities.

I agree, currencies have been used to fuel illegal activities and even war. the government created currencies to be used by everyone and use it as a trading tool but the cons. of it came after that. I think bitcoin is already have been used in many illegal transactions, just think of the features that bitcoins offers, don't you think those features doesn`t attract criminals?. I think all of fiat and crypto's can be used on illegal activities I mean it doesn't matter what type of money you are using as long as it can pay what they want to buy or the things that they need,

Any criminal use any currency which he require for a particular place suppose a person is doing any illegal activity in places where USD is easily used then he will use USD and if he is doing any illegal activity in places where euro is easily used then he will use Euro. US dollar is accepted in almost everywhere in this planet, so international crimes and illegal activities can be financed by  US dollar. But why would we use US dollar if we are only doing small time illegal activity if we are criminals? I'd rather use local currency if I am a criminal, for convenience. Rather than looking at the percentage of Bitcoins used for illegal purchases to the total number of Bitcoins circulating, you must look at the absolute value of BTC used for drug purchases. I am sure that it is only a small fraction of the same for USD.

It is probably better to use cash or gold with illegal activities because they are not as easily traced. It seems like there is much work to hide bitcoin transactions and it opens the door for mistakes. It seems that even if the final transaction is mixed, that all the other transactions might be preserved somehow on other accounts.  Imagine how many people might have kept a record of their transactions for other purposes along the chain to that final transaction. That's a whole pile of leads there and probably more than one snitch in the group.
