It's been an interesting month.  Monero has had an epic run, but without any fundamental change in the project I think we can all conclude that this has more to do with bagholder liquidation than any real paradigm shift in the way monero is being used.

It also coincides very nicely with news of zero coins imminent release.
Remember it was the original discussion of zero coins papers that got us all hyped on anon coins in the first place.  I remember back to those original discussions, and for me it was the excitement over zero coin that led me to buying my first monero.

There may be one or two more small pumps in monero before zcoin is released, but this looks like a perfect opportunity to short.

If your not actively using the technology behind your crypto investment,

IT IS A SCAM!!!!

I thought you think vcash is best anon coin so far. So if now best anon coin will get a unbeatable competition in zcash, your advice should be to short vcash.

Was your investment in Waves smart move back then or you made a mistake and you should wait to invest in waves right now?

Why do all the topics discussing anon coins start with jibberish about monero's price? Seems lots of these 'projects' are pretty insecure about themselves...

a new coin will always be a new coin...
if you still dont understand let me be more clear, zcash/zcoin will need time to get investor confidence. right now only gamblers would simple abandon a stablished project for zcash.

still seems to be a great project, deserves some money.

Because people who want private transactions love 'em a good ol' boy corporate structure--(winces)

I think you need to get back to your barber shop and ask for better pro-picks; the time to short monero would be when LOOOONNNGGG MOOOONNNEROOO threads start popping up, otherwise you come across as a bad poker player who can't bluff for shit. There's a punch line here, but like the dude from The Princess Bride, you're gonna have to go all-in to get it.

Here's the number that needs watched: http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage

If you bet your house on anything anyone says on BCT, you need to spend more time meditating, or whatever, as you're likely gambling your life savings on the advice of someone who has too much skin in the game and wants you to take their seat before they run out of chips--as they say in Rome, " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caveat_emptor ."

because whenever there is success, rise or whatever positive point, everybody here tries to stick to that hype and try to raise the price of their bags which they have been holding for a long time.

anonymous coins are the new trend

Here's the number that needs watched: http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage

market cap has turned into a worthless thing to watch in crypto currency markets. because it is being manipulated so easily.

I can make a new coin named PursuerCoin hype it up to the price of 0.0001BTC which is nothing for new coins and be the number 2 on coinmarket cap list of top markets by simply having 150,000,000,000 PursuerCoin with 100,000,000,000 premine
now if I were rich and could manipulate the price myself too I could reduce the available supply to 84,148,151 and price to 0.02BTC and be number 2

simple as that!

Funny thing is how 2 ETH shills already discussed my haircut in another thread and now we have a Monero worshiper doing it. Like my opinion should matter if I was with a different one. The only difference is that this is indeed me and you guys are just a bunch of forum "Brad Pitt's of Economics" (that's how I named one of the ETH "professors") who are probably uglier than Kardashian's ass. Maybe I should repeat for the 100th time that I don't care about Monero and same goes for the Zcash.

Barbershops are where "experts" show their prowess for misinformation. But thanks for sharing the very opinion (or convenient lack of it) to illustrate the very observation I was making--usually when you corner a barbershop expert on their fundamentals, they back track faster than well....

My points that you missed:

--when I mentioned barber shop, I was talking about wannabe expert opinion, not your meme's haircut.

--that when confronted about your bad opinion, you ran away from it by saying that you don't care about Monero or Zcash.

Reader can read it for themselves here:

He probably meant Z.cash. Btw, some serious guys invested in the project and I will not be surprised if it even surpass Monero. Check here: https://z.cash/team.html

And my points:

-- I've never said that I am an expert.

-- I'm not running away, I never do that. Discussing Monero with you is a waste of time and it is not the first time I'm saying that I don't care about what happens with Monero (but it is the first time when I'm saying that I don't care about Zcash). Simple truth is that I don't believe in the future of anonymous coins and the readers you are referring to can see that in my post history.

Thank you for admitting your opinion isn't expert--and comes from someone who doesn't care about privacy coins and sees no future in them--the first step in growth is being honest with yourself.

I would be very careful in touching this coin. Have their developers or founders been on developer conferences and made talks? Also remember that they have the golden key in the trusted set up.

Zcoin is not a clone of Zcash in anyway. They're both based on different academic papers. Zcoin IMPLEMENTS the Zerocoin technology and is the first coin to do so. Zcash implements Zerocash technology which built on the Zerocoin paper and sought to address some of its usability shortcomings but because of that introduced its own set of issues such as high computational cost and more risk in the trusted setup since you can't absolutely determine supply. Zerocoin (which Zcoin implements) takes up more storage space in exchange for lower computational costs when creating private transactions and also doesn't obscure amounts since it uses fixed denominations to mint the coin (1,25,50,100 etc).

The trusted setup mechanism is also not the same in Zcoin and doesn't involve the founders destroying keys. Full details here which you can also independently verify:
https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/wiki/Parameters-in-set-up-phase-for-Zerocoin-in-ZCoin

Monero had a epic run lastly and it seems it will give good trading opportunities to traders for a while till the next run that is probably not soon. Other anon coins will also rise.
