Not for me but for a guy coming to Chicago June 21-25 from out of the country. He PM'ed me seeking my advice as to whom to trust. I offered up penning a thread to help him with his quest, hence this.

Therefore, I ask, can anybody in Chicago help him out during the stated time frame? We can even make it a meetup of sorts with me attending (this is not a meetup request).

Feel free to PM if you can or desire more info, but I won't divulge his name unless he comes here and identifies himself as the person seeking said bitcoins.

5K BTC? or $5K worth of btc?

The former would get me out there for sure.

Probably $5k worth of BTC, 5000K BTC worth in cash would raise red flags at a port of entry if undeclared. https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/447/kw/carrying%20cash%20in%20excess%20%2410%2C000/session/L3NpZC9GcmpXYkJtbA%3D%3D

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

Totally understood.  Thought the funds were already here.

Hi, I am the foreigner (Bra-zil-zil-zil!!!) who is trying to buy the BTC´s. As already explained above, I am not allowed to carry more than 10k in USD, nor would it be feasible to me at this very moment. We are talking about ~ 5k USD.
All I ask is a far exchange rate and a trustable seller. If anybody wants to sell a smaller amount, I would not bother (or rather prefer) to split the deal into 2, 3 or more purchases from different people.
Thanks a lot for the help anyway. It is very difficult to move funds offshore from Brazil (I guess from many others countries too, that is one of the very reasons for the birth of bitcoin), so that we face a chronic shortage of bitcoins here. Anyone who sells their coins will also help to spread the cryptocurrency worldwide.
I cannot properly thank Phinnaeus for his help!! Thank you, bro!

I'll sell you $5000 worth via a cash deposit to my Bank of America account for 5% above the spot rate, or for cash in the mail, I'll do 4% above the spot rate.

Thanks!
