Hello,

Excuse me to this topic, I am newbee.., but wanted to have some Bitcoins for my projects.

I looked for a tons of exchange services, but need to pay about 3-4% extra to buy Bitcoins.

Is where any ways not to pay extra percents for exchange from USD to Bitcoins? Or to pay only 1-1.5%...

Thanks
Tarska.

what country are you in? you get way lower fees if you buy on an exchange but if you have to wire your funds to them from abroad then that'll cost in fees and you're in for a long wait. if you're in America you have gdax and gemini among others.

https://www.bitfinex.com/

Great exchange.  Used them for years.  They did get hacked, but they learned from the hack and have greatly increased security.

You will get the very best price buying Bitcoins at https://www.bitfinex.com/

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

seriously? i think i'd prefer to send my money to somewhere in the same country that isn't at risk of being sued or hacked again. if you're in usd you're lucky enough to have regulated options but it does depend on what state you're in.

Yes, seriously, they are a great exchange, learned from the hack, they are secure now.  Low trading fees.

Haven't you tried LocalBitcoins.com? It works best for me for both actions, depositing and withdrawing off the bitcoins. You can easily find someone from the same country there and the website would work as the escrow, so it's safe too.

That's depend in your location mate, there is some exchangers working with low fees for the US residents. You can use the forum exchanger as well, by posting your offer with your acceptable rate.

one thing to note.

spread vs fee

sometimes trading on localbitcoins they say they dont have a fee, but then value the trade using an exchange with the highest sell lowest buy spread
EG if bitstamp is $616, and btc-e is $609

someone can say they offer zero fee when you want to buy bitcoin. but then price the trader shows a valuation of $616, then when you want to sell bitcoin they say zero fee but value it at $609
which is a 1% difference. which is an acceptable spread for the different exchanges.
so dont worry about 1%, your going to have to accept your not going to get a perfectly discounted deal no matter where you trade. but yea just stay away from the ones where the price they offer is 2-5% away from the average 1% spread

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.

If you live in Europe you can send money from your bank to an exchange like Bitstamp for 10 cents, if you live outside Europe it will cost $10 or more. After you get money onto an exchange you can put a buy order on and wait until someone sells Bitcoins into it. That gets you a better price than buying into a Bitcoin sell order. You will get charged between 0.1% to 0.5% for the trade. Finally, when you withdraw your Bitcoins there might be a withdrawal fee. Bitfinex does Bitcoin withdrawals for free, but it was hacked this year. Bitstamp also does free Bitcoin withdrawals, but it was hacked last year. Other exchanges have varying fees.

Tarska.

There`s no way to avoid high fees when you buy bitcoins online.

Maybe find an offline trader who is willing to trade bitcoins in person.

It` s just a suggestion. The risk is still very high.

Try here on forum, you have currency exchange here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 , maybe you can open new thread, wrote what kind of bank card you have, what are you looking for.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1633175.0  - need $205 Skrill Will Give $203 btc!

You see there is a lot of people who are trying to sell or buy bitcoins, take a look there. Maybe high fees are not bad, let me explain you. Sometimes its better to pay 3 % more, and to be safe and to have safe transactions. Also its much better to give 3 % for that, then to risk and lose everything you have cause you wanted something much cheaper. Good luck!

Thank you, sure always we pay more for a lowered risks, but I wanted to know the common market % for this transactions and ways you guys use to lower this extra %.

And I live in Russia, so I wanted to pay via USD from my local banks, but if I use exchange boards, when I need to pay extra % just to enter my USDs to stock exchange service.

Just purchasing on the personal users, that will make you just paying not more than 1% maybe you can buy from the trusted seller in here, and other thing you can try with local bitcoin and I think he has a small charge for their buyer.

another option
if you live in russia.. forget about exchanging your ruble for dollar and then using dollar on exchanges.

instead. find out the average bitcoin price in dollars. then calculate the ruble rate
EG $612=38141r

now you can decide that you want to be a price "maker". that way you do not pay more than 38141r per bitcoin
this means you demand a price on localbitcoins or at local meetups instead of "taking" a price others demand.

knowing there is a 1%-5% fee depending on who or where you are trading
you dont look for peoples prices because those prices are for their profit.. but make your own price for your own profit.
EG
https://localbitcoins.com/instant-bitcoins/?action=sell&country_code=RU&amount=&currency=RUB&online_provider=NATIONAL_BANK&find-offers=Search

if your an order "maker" you demand to offer 37500 for a bitcoin and become a listing along with other "makers" on the link above of buyers
rather than
if your an order "taker" where you only view offers of sellers on the link below
https://localbitcoins.com/instant-bitcoins/?action=buy&country_code=RU&amount=&currency=RUB&online_provider=NATIONAL_BANK&find-offers=Search

yes it takes longer because you are not the one rushing to a person shouting "i have bitcoin i want 40000r"
you instead are the one shouting "i have 37500r i want bitcoin" and wait for people to come to you

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.

Almost any exchange should allow you to do this. The only fees which usually gets charged on such exchanges is a 0.5% fee, which is next to nothing.
