Experience can be an advantage sometimes but may not really matter depend on what kind of game you are playing I think. For me when you gamble and if its not your lucky day to win no matter how good or how long you have been playing with that game if its not your day then you will not win.
Why only sometimes? For me experience is always helpful all the times. Because you have the idea on what's good and bad if you are into a certain situation. That's why if you don't think that experience is helpful all the time then you are not appreciating the essence of having good experience. For me experience does really matter in almost everything. I think what he's trying to say here is that in gambling (unlike in work where you're investment is skills and experince), is that there are so many factors to consider like luck, roll of the dice and sometimes your own greed. No matter how experienced you are when you are facing the unknown you can't help but to take risks because there is no such thing as a 💯 win percentage in gambling that's why it's called a gamble. In work and real life challenges, the more experienced you are the more you have the edge on something but in gambling sometimes even a newbie might surprised you because of pure luck. |

There are skilled based gambling aside from luck. Example of the skilled based gambling is poker - if you are well experienced, skilled, and have full knowledge of poker, you have greater chances of winning over the other players who are inexperienced and no skills of the game at all. But yes, most of the gambling games does not require skills but purely based on luck. |

I think yes, but only to a certain extent. Experience only helps you when you need to decide how much money can you spend, when to stop, etc. If you are playing some simple slots like Fruit Shop, for example, you don't have much actions to perform and I don't see how experience can help you. It is more about your luck |

Playing with slot machines, won't really need any experienced only luck. It is safe to say that even if you have played slot machines for a couple of decades already that you are going to constantly win and beating the casinos. However, skilled games like poker and sportsbook do requires good amount of experience. |

You need experience for what? To click button? Really? You need that little experience not to click the buttons, but you may need that experience manage your bankroll. Because as we all know that in gambling only luck can bring money and all other things are not so important. If you're an experienced on this stuff, then you may avoid playing a dice game with a huge bankroll and which will save you a lot of money. No, you don't need experience to manage your bankroll, you only need little brain in your head to do that. Also bankroll management doesn't work in games based on luck. Video poker is based on luck, texas holdem is not. In video poker you need to hit poker, straight flush or royal to win big, in texas you don't need anything in hand to win. |

In gambling experience can't do much. The fact is you don't get any experience from gambling that you can apply the other day and can make the profit again. But there are some gambling strategy like martingale, hedging, kelly criterion etc which can increase your chances to some extent. Thus, experience can help you in judging what can work with what. But, I believe those strategies don't have to offer much because at the end gambling is a game of luck.

For some people experience is going to help them to win especially in poker games however for me that only play for fun then it doesnt help me. I choose not to know anything at all and only gamble for fun because when I got too much thinking about this kind of stuff then I wont be having fun when I play anymore |

This is statement is not correct. Better chance against house doesn't exist, house will always have advantage over players. exactly if you know you are in favor since you already experience the game then you will place bigger stake and if you are not sure about what you are doing experience as well will dictate you to just place much smaller stake, so its very useful in this particular activity.
How do you exactly know that you will win? Do you have crystal ball? |
