Apple Pay

Bitcoin

When you go into a store and want to buy goods. You can either wave your apple watch og iphone at a terminal at the register. It will take you around - 3 seconds.
Nope it will take 2-30 days (sometimes months) for that transaction to clear. Ask anyone who owns a business. With bitcoin a business can ship with complete confidence in less than an hour. Apple Pay is a digital system tacked onto a centralized cupon system which is tacked onto a paper money system. Bitcoin is a completely revolutionary digital system.

Quote
Or you can pull out your smartphone. Log into your wallet. Scan someones 2D bitcoin code. Send them some bitcoins, wait for the transaction to be verified, and then take your goods and go.. total time 10mins +
I have never in my life "logged into" a wallet? I only scan when I'm buying from my phone and it takes far less time than a magnetic strip or a chip card. I also rarely need to wait for verification. Purchases under say $20 do not really need verification. When you buy a big mac at Macdonald's they have no idea if the transaction is valid. But they know that orchestrating a fake Tx is more costly than a big mac, so they just risk it.  If I were selling a bass boat then I would wait 10-30 mins. Which I'm ok with.

Quote
Can someone tell me how bitcoins will ever stand a chance?

You are missing all the most important features of bitcoin. I dumped my cards in 2010 and have saved thousands of dollars, and increased the security of my transactions by orders of magnitude. I travel the world with one currency now. I don't pay bank fees or worry about identity theft. There is no way I'll ever go back to shitty fiat systems. Bitcoin is the fastest, most secure and cheapest money system ever developed, and that's a fact.

If you don't believe me then let's have a contest! We'll both buy a gold bar.  Unfortunately, you are going to have to pay a lot to use your fancy watch. Your total is $13,198.58, ouch. I will only pay $12,815.40 because I am using BTC. As mentioned above they could ship to me right away, but you are going to have to wait for the Tx to clear Mastercard/Visa... It could be a while. If anyone gets your credit info then you are going to have a mess on your hands. But I could post my account password and it would not help a thief to steal from me.

Lastly, I like to own my money. You only have permission to use the federal reserves money and then only if it's ok with your watch.  Roll Eyes

for faster transaction we can use our traditional wallet but bitcoin wallet is only good for heavy transaction and for far away transaction there it will work faster than traditional bank wallet.
Well they are different but we need each other to able to use to pay in any needed banks is for safe place for than bitcoin but if you have bitcoin it  a good investment that you can get benefits from price increase.

Make crypto as your bank.

Well Apple got a large powerfull position. On 1 hand they got the name and then offcourse the own the chips is millions of phone. And we all know what the internet and online payments can do in terms of sales. I do think bitcoin still holds the advantages because of the fees and anonimity.

i also never use Apple pay but i am sure that bitcoin is much more better than apple pay because bitcoin is acceptable in all countries for shopping or other and we can use bitcoin as investment so bitcoin is very good.

The problem with apple pay is that to use it you must buy an overpriced product from an untrustworthy company run by a queer. Edward Snowden never had an iphone. Having one is like having an NSA agent in your pocket.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

I am personally not an Apple fan and I don't really use Apple product. To add on, I have been with the Bitcoin community for a year now and why would I want to switch over to Apple Pay? No reason for me to switch to Apple Pay. I'd say Bitcoin is far more transparent and secure as compared to Apple Pay technology.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

It will also take 3 seconds for somebody to take all of your balance. You're not even required to log in? Really? If that is so then somebody can just open your Apple watch or iPhone and transfer all of your balance into his while you're not looking or while you're asleep. 3 seconds is such an hyperbole. Are you the Flash? How could you take your phone out of your pocket, unlock your phone, open Apple Pay in three seconds?

10 mins is such a long time for those actions. I'd say it would only take a minute or two to finish sending Bitcoins especially if the Bitcoin wallet that you're using has a transaction fee. That means your transaction will have a higher priority than those that doesn't have a tx fee.

To be honest, I think this thread is just OP's way to promote Apple Pay.

Bitcoin will still have a chance cause Apple pay is limited to work only in most western countries. It isn't even available in developing states and most parts of middle east and asia. Also, if you own an Apple iPhone it has a build in NFC that only works for Apple Pay POS. Here is where Bitcoin is a game changer as now Bitcoin reflliable debit cards are available on the go. You can easily get one on wirex (virtual and plastic cards) and load those cards using Bitcoins and spend them on any terminal that supports master card or visa.

I am not trying to bash bitcoins and hype apple pay. I would love if I could pay with bitcoins everywhere! Unfortuantly i can't, because stores obviosuly haven't seen the light yet.

We all have smart phones. I dont choose apple because it's overpriced or pretty. I choose it only because I hate the lag that is on android phones. Even my latets android adventure (Samsung S7) has ended because of lag. Not a lot of lag like the Nexus 5X, but enough to notice. I'm back to iphone 7 with no lag.

Apple Pay

Bitcoin

That's truly the best way to explain it... Cheesy PainPal, FruitPay and their peers are just for shifting the good old fiat trash around. So familiarity and convenience of usage is only one side of the medal. And Bitcoin is constantly improving in usability and acceptance, too.

The main advantage of Bitcoin is that it is a sound decentralized currency that can serve as a store as value. Transactions can't be simply blocked to please the governmental surveillance freaks and you remain in full charge of your funds. No fiat solution can compete with the hybrid nature of Bitcoin being both a currency and a payment system.

Why would you even tell Bitcoin users that Apple Pay is better than Bitcoin. This is like going inside McDonald's and talking to a regular customer that the relatively new restaurant in the corner is better. Bitcoin ensures security that's why it takes some time before you can get ready to send your money. Without even doing research, I'm pretty sure that Apple Pay is just the same as Paypal with the same set of rules and concepts.

Agreed. for a common and middle class person both are expensive and difficult to use.. and for a person who is in bitcoin like me then bitcoin is obviously is the best choice.
I like bitcoin because I have bitcoin and don't have apple.

Google is not different from apple. They are both shit and evil.

I owned both android xperia and iphone and i enjoyed both. (tbh, i liked iphone more) One thing disturbed me with android phones is that they are fliling their phones with so many useless bloatwares and it really fucks up your device. (i know you can install cyanomod or smth but i don't have time for this)

Apple doesn't do that. Because google is a fucking adcompany. It was a search engine in the beginning but lately they turned out into an ad-company. You think apple collects data about every step you do and google does not? Both do that.

And, apple. They were fucking selling 16gb phones until this september. That's fucking evil. I purchased a 64gb 6s 2 months before the Iphone7 promo, and they came with 32gb versions as a starter pack. Fucking shits.

TLDR; Apple=Google=Horseshit

First of all i used bitcoin for transaction and it took a few seconds, used 3rd party btw you dont need to wait for the transaction to be verified and it converted to fiat automaticaly so you dont need to worry about the volatile nature of the bitcoin, however i never use aplepay before but i think bitcoin still the best as a payment method, like people mentioned above.
