Go to www.torproject.org download the vidalia bundle and tor will begin. you may have to refer to the site if your tor button is not working simply click on one of the links to install either the stable or the alpha. Once youre sure tor is running, visit check.torproject.org and if it is working it will say congratulations if not it will tell you its not working. This allows you to visit certain sites of interest like silk road. Check the wired.com article about slik road for a link to it but make sure tor is running first.
