I'm not totally new to using bitcoin, I previously deposited using blockchain's online wallet faster transfer method but they seem to have taken it down. I know there are sites like bitbargain.co.uk where you can buy bitcoins with uk bank transfers, but does anyone know why established trading sites such as blockchain are unable to offer the service on a permanent basis?

Yeah but I haven't seen any official statements regarding the reason why, is it the government/police that has blocked it due to criminal activities or due to some trading laws? I never saw any official statement from blockchain regarding the removal of ukbt as a deposit option.

I said it before I'm gonna say it again: Just wire the money to MTGOX or the like. Its expensive, but OK once you consider that all your future transactions will be practically free once you switch to BTC.

I also used to buy through block chain. I don't feel comfortable buying on localbitcoins - so have set up an account on www.okpay.com. The verification process is pretty fast (took 1 day)

I transferred some cash from RBS to their Barclays account but they say allow 2 days so will wait and see.

Yeah this pisses me off as well, I have thought about putting a business plan together for an exchange and taking it my bank see what they say, narks me.

I've used transferwise to send to mtgox in poland, took about 3 days, faster than I thought it would.

With faster payments I don't see why it should take more than 2 hours (the maximum amount of time faster payments can take)

It's a pity bitcoin isn't made easier in the UK
