Yeah that's been my experience in dealing with Chris Double as well.  He'll reply on bitmessage once then go radio silent.  People keep saying he's a trustworthy guy but I'm not seeing it.  I believe his claim that a hard drive crash took out the wallet but he needs to be more vocal on here if he wants to regain any trust.

It's pretty obvious he has no intention of paying back the coins he owes people, which is fine if he really can't but he needs to let people know that if his intention is to only pay out from his dying mining pool.

DoubleC also runs a mining pool that mines BTC and merge mines NMC.  It's a fairly small pool though, you can see the stats here for how often it finds a block:

So basically every time his pool finds a block he is distributing the fee (some/all, who knows considering he hasn't spelled any of this out).

Your calculations are probably correct, so you won't be getting all your BTC back.  I still think someone should sue DoubleC but I don't have enough loses for it to be worth it nor do I live in his country.  Seems he will just get away with it.  He's still active on twitter (http://twitter.com/doublec) but I haven't tried calling him out on there, nor do I think it would matter.

Thanks you very much KoziTwo surgery went well even it's cost all of my things ... it's good that I have my local friends who I used to help them before I get this bad situation ... ... I have rest for months ... it's good that I have only my dad to care and it's don't cost too much for 2 peoples live together ... my friends group up and borrowed me some buck to survive (but I still have to pay them back anyway lol because it's not mine money) now I'm back to work less customer but it's ok ... have to say it surgery never fixed it to perfect ... but I'm pretty good compare to the worst or the last time I wrote message in this post (I writing message to this post while having much pain .. Well not only you ... but me also ... got kicked by him on twitter / facebook / linkedin / the only place I didn't get kicked by him yet is github since I know he didn't want to talk ... it will end up the same ...

current state he is open his " nmcrecovery " website for this case it will generate coin base on his mining pool (which I don't really know it's his or his -ex) but the rate is extremely low to none for years ... by calculation it might use more then our life to get all those coins back ... while he keep silent for years

now is in maintenance state ... due to Persona (Login system that provided by Mozilla is being retire) the information is real...

but what next ? no one able to contact him at all... and even the recovery site is on ... it will took forever to recovery our money

I couldn't find any lawyer who specialist in Digital Currency in his country ... and seem no one accept risk by pay with thing that we will get from chris ... (if we won)

It's been years ... I tried to contact Chris 4 times ... it got success 2 of them ... but nothing new ...
He is now no longer work at Mozilla anymore

His recovery site that keep said maintenance for years ... even SSL is expired ... (maybe domain soon or later)

It seem everyone give up ... but I just can't till today nothing is really confirm anything ...

Thanks for Help, I have talked with coinfirm and they decided not work on this case, I doubt because it hard to do anything to Chris Double in NZ and it cost a lot for specialists
